New Product
Next Level Multi-Rotor Frame Kits Now Available!
Hello Everyone!
This is Lucien Miller from Innov8tive Designs, Inc., and I would like to introduce our newest product line, Next Level Multi-Rotors. This is an entire new line of Multi-Rotor products that are being designed and manufactured right here at Innov8tive Designs in Southern California. These frames were developed at the request of many customers that had used other products, but were unhappy with the performance, or just wanted a larger, more durable frame. The product line is starting with a series of multi-rotor frames in 500mm and 650mm sizes. The first two frames being offered are 500mm and 650mm Quad-Copters, with Hex versions in these two sizes following in a few weeks. In design right now are larger 800mm and 1000mm frames in both quad and hex configurations, as well as H-4 and H-6 models for all the sizes. The Next Level Multi-Rotor frames are built using fiberglass reinforced G10 material for the center plates, motor mounts and landing gear legs, with extruded aluminum alloy used for the frame arms. The frames are assembled with threaded aluminum standoffs, stainless steel screws and stainless steel nylon insert locking nuts. This construction results in a rock-solid frame that resists twisting, and stays straight and true, flight after flight. Our test pilots that have flown prototype frames have commented that they fly extremely smooth, and produce excellent results when used as an aerial video or FPV platform. The design concept used in these frames provides for modular construction with endless upgrade possibilities. All of the parts in the 500mm and 650mm family are interchangable, so you can mix and match parts as needed to construct the frame exactly the way you need it. For example, you can start with a basic 500mm quad frame and fly it for a while. If you want a bigger frame, you can simply purchase a set of 650mm arms and convert the frame to a 650mm quad. When you get tired of flying a quad, you can purchase two motor arms, legs and motor mounts, and get a set of hex center plates and re-configure the frame as a hex, using all of the parts from your original quad frame! Optional payload mounts, camera mounts, motor mounts, shock absorbing landing gear kits and other accessories are also available to build the frame exactly the way you need it. A complete line of spare parts is also available, along with extra standoffs, screws and complete hardware kits to keep your multi-rotor flying. Here is a photo of the basic 500mm kit, which will sell for $129.99. Here is a photo of the 650mm frame with the optional blank center plate being used as a top cover, the PM2 payload mount being used as a camera mount, and the optional shock absorbing landing gear kit. Also coming soon, right after the first of the year, is a new line of brushless speed controllers designed specifically for multi-rotor use. These Next Level speed controllers will be available in 10 amp, 20 amp, 30 amp and 40 amp sizes initially, and will be pre-programmed with all of the commonly used settings for multi-rotor use. They will be able to accept refresh rates of up to 400Hz from your flight controller and will be set with brake off, no low-voltage cutoff, normal acceleration and medium timing so they will work with the widest range of available motors. The 10 amp models will ship with pre-tinned input and output leads, but the 20, 30 and 40 amp models will come with 3.5mm female bullet connectors pre-installed for you. We will also be offering pre-made 4-to-1 and 6-to-1 power harnesses and motor lead extension kits to connect everything together. Also coming soon to compliment the line will be a complete selection of Multi-Rotor props in both normal and reverse pitch. Two different materials will be available in these props. The first is a fiberglass reinforced ABS plastic that is very light and strong, but still flexible. These props will be available in Bright Green, Bright Orange and Gloss Black. The other material is a carbon fiber reinforced nylon available in a Satin Black finish. These props are about 10 times stiffer that other standard props, and hold their shape even under the heaviest load conditions. The available sizes will include 8x4.5, 9x4.7, 10x4.5, 11x4.7 and 12x4.5. Throughout 2012 we will be introducing more options for the frames as they are developed and manufactured. For more information about these new products, please visit the Multi-Rotor section on our website. Be sure to check back often as we will be constantly adding new items as they become available. If you have any questions or comments about these new products, please post them here, or send an email to Sales@Innov8tiveDesigns.com and I will get right back with you. Thanks for checking out our new Next Level Multi-Rotor Frames and other products! Sincerely, Lucien Miller Innov8tive Designs |

Next Level Multi-Rotors at RC Dude Hobbies
We've been flying and testing a bunch of configurations of these machines the past few months and we are pretty excited to see this new line of frames coming to the market. There are quite a few choices out there in quad frames in the 500mm size and below, but each has some major drawbacks and none of them are what I considered to be the "Next Level" of multi-rotor machines.
For the past year many customers have called and described the machines they want to meet their goals and the existing products out there have just been under-powered to carry a sufficient payload, too limiting on capabilities and options, or nearly impossible to simply install a camera on. There are some machines out there that come close to solving the problem but they tend to cost more than some new cars. The Next Level Multi-Rotors plug this huge gap in the market and best yet, never become obsolete. So no more throwing everything away and starting over again when you're ready to move on to the next level. These are great machines that have the durability for beginners but also grow with you as your needs change and your goals evolve. In stock this Friday at RC Dude Hobbies Here a few pictures of the prototype 500mm quad I built and have been testing the past few months.... Randy |

this looks like one hefty pretty frame. very nice. Definitely cool and price is about right too. I'll be watching this frame closely!
I'd order one if the landing gear was different. Learning from the VC-20-450 frame that landing gear has multiple points of failure the first being the screws up top unless there is aluminum reinforcement for the g10 where it mounts to the arm. The second breaking point are the legs themselves, upon any moving sideways or forward landing they'll just snap. Although that video shows perfect suspension, the frame is dropped from a perfect vertical angle. But with the shocks it adds a bit of reinforcement, all depends how tightly they are mounted to the circular standoffs that cross the landing gear. Sometime you might want to mention to the builders. Any idea on weight? |

I plan to get some durability videos of these machines this coming weekend so I'll make one to demonstrate some seriously flawed landings at an angle. I'm going to show you how the Next Level arms hold up to being ran over by a large SUV too. |

New Next Level Quads on display at the 2011 Orlando Heli Blowout
On December 9th, 10th and 11th I was in Apopka, Florida at the 2011 Orlando Helicopter Blowout that was sponsored by the TORCHS heli club and organized by Bert Kammerer. I had all of the Scorpion heli products on display there, and I also took along a few of the new Next Level Multi-Rotor frames for display. We got a overwhelming response from the heli pilots at the event, in fact, several people wanted to purchase my show sample models right there at the event!
Here are a few photos of our booth from the event. This first photo shows my personal 500mm quad frame set up with Scorpion SII-2215-900 motors swinging 9x4.7SF props, Cobra 22 amp ESC's and an OpenPilot CopterControl board. I am currently running it with a 3200mah 3-cell Li-Po pack, and I can easily get 10-12 minute flights from it with plenty of reserve left in th epack. It is also set up with LED light strips for orientation purposes and for night flying. I have green lights on the front arms, red lights in the back and blue lights on the bottom. This next photo shows the prototype for the new 800mm Quad that I set up for heavy lifting. It has 4 Scorpion HK-4035-560 helicopter motors in it swinging APC 15x4E props, 4 Cobra 100 amp speed controllers and an OpenPilot CopterControl board for guidance. This one is set up to run off of a pair of 6-cell 5000mah lipos, and together, all four motors make in excess of 50 pounds of thrust at full throttle! Here is another shot showing all three machines that I had on display. The 500mm Quad frame is in the front, the 650mm Quad frame is in the middle. IT is shown with the optional top cover plate, lower payload mount and the shock absorber kit. Finally, in the back, is the giant 800mm frame. We will be adding some more flight videos to the thread and a few more photos later on. See you all later! Lucien |

I always listen to Pink Floyd music while I am building my Multi-Rotors! I think it helps put a good vibe into the frames.
Shine on you Crazy Diamond! Lucien |

Hit the Pink Floyd playlists on YouTube. There are some of them that have 100 songs in them. That will keep you busy for about 12 hours or so!
