I've also gotten my lights finished at this point. LED's are from Radio Shack. The wingtip lights are spliced into the plug for the flap servos to minimize the number of connections to do at the field. This also allows me to use a 6 channel receiver; otherwise I'd need 7.

The tail light is plugged right into the Batt channel on my receiver.

The lights look great and are nice and bright. Mind you each one has a different Ohm resistor on it to optimize the brightness without burning them out.

Note the added stab dihedral and sheeted turtle deck.

Here is how the cowl work went. I had painted it with Spaz Stix but I accidentally messed up the paint trying to get rid of some yellow over-spray. Instead of waiting a week to get another can I used some Krylon chrome, which I think looks just as good if not better.

Now as you may or may not know chrome paint sucks. You can't touch the paint because if you do the chrome blackens. If you clear it you ruin the chrome-ness. I went with the "I won't touch it" option.

That being said working around the chrome without touching it is a pain. I tried using black trim tape for the bird but the cowl is too curved. Instead, I painted the black portion by hand with gloss black Testors. The yellow portion is trim tape.

All in all I'm properly chuffed over how it came out.

And the plane all together. There is still I bunch to do including installing more servos and the cockpit details.

Because I split the stabs to add dihedral I have to run two pushrods instead of one. Luckily the opposite side of the fuse has the holes already there to run it.

I'm thinking it's looking like my source material...

Sessholvlaru,

Wow, you have a lot of patience, and it paid off. Very sharp looking plane! Congrates on getting that covering to work.

Someday I will put mine together...

Thanks for the compliments!

Here's my gear mod. It looks much better than the stock splayed out gear. All that was needed was 8 small washers to shim the small screws where the retract unit bolts to its plate mount to angle it inward.

I replaced the tires with more narrow ones so they don't hit the covering when retracted. Gear doors next...

Gear doors installed. I trimmed them to look like the full-scale mine is modeled after.

I actually really like Maxford's attachment method, it seems very secure.

I also took a silver Sharpie to my wheels to jazz them up some.

I like how you can see my Maxford Storch in the reflection on the wing in the second pic.

Note that I am not using the gear door stickers Maxford provides for the "Glob" Swift, lol.

Interesting...72 posts and not a single post about the flying qualities of this airplane...has anyone here actually flown this thing?

Hope that you liked it. BTW, are you as stoked over the chrome Globe Swift as I am? I think that I really need one now.
