The B Swift is my 1st Maxford airplane. Yes, The perfect framework is hidden under the worst iron on covering application I've seen. Every spot that is on the underlaying wood is scuffed like it was applied with a worn out iron. Does anyone know a technique repair/remove the scuff blemishes?
2 other questions;
Does the stab dihedral affect flying?
Does the flap operation need a mix for the elevator trim? Up..Down?

I'll let you know when I fly it.

Many years ago I also covered a plane with chrome iron on. Same results you have. Since apparently they haven't improved on that type, The only way is to use smaller pieces to avoid stretching. Some have just gone to useing the self-adheisive chrome trim or tapes. The sheeting of the turttle deck came out nice.

Sorry for the lack of editing. Here's the link to my friend's Maxford Swift. It actually flew pretty well. Pardon the random commentary. Flown by RCGroups user "N726AC"

Sess....

Any concerns over the weight you've added so far aft of the CG with the sheeting, and to a lesser extent, the extra elevator servo?

It seems that, at least in theory, if you add an extra ounce to the back, you might have to add 3 ounces to the front to keep it in balance. An extra 1/4-pound could affect overall performance.

Just thinking out loud.

Kinda tricky on the ground but flies very nicely. I will probably add a little expo to the elevator.

Nope. Also I'm not adding another elevator servo.

The plane doesn't feel particularly heavy to begin with so I don't foresee a problem.

Here's my twin elevator setup. One servo drives both halves. Simple.

maxfordusa has this model on sale for $110 in the 2012 Christmas season.

What sort of flying times are you guys getting on your batteries, with 35-42 motors?
