Hello

Can anyone help.
I want to build the X8 for long flights, stable, long endurance. To make mapping, control the X8 for 20km or more.

What's the best configuration?

Would be great to have a blog with a diferent configurations, for people share

Questions
For the guys that have spinners. What size (diameter) spinner do you all recommend for the X8?

For the guys that don't have spinners, what size (diameter) yoke do you recommend for a 12X6.5 prop.?

Anyone here using the Tiger Motor 2826/5 (900kv)?
Planning on throwing a Aeronaut 13x6.5 on it.

The motor is also good for 6s, so anyone tried that too?

Don't see why not. You might burn it with a prop that big, though. If you're looking for a massive 6S motor just go back a couple pages, I put up a link. It would be more efficient, and is only a couple dollars more.

Very nice! You wouldn't by any chance be willing to share this and other models you have done as a Sketchup, STL file or whatever you have would you?

In the next day or two I will post a Sketchup/STL file for a motor mount for the inside wall (so you can bolt through) that can be used for CNC machines or that you can simply to print out, stick to fiberglass/ply and cut manually.

My X-8 arrived today, pictures just dont do this thing justice. It is huge.

i'm probably going to assemble the cockpit (center) section and then set it next to my 450 or my 600 heli and take a picture for a size comparison.

Its funny you posted up the pic of that latch and someone asked for the STL file.
Just this morning I was looking online at 3d printers trying to decide which one I should buy
theres alot of choices but i'm looking more at bed size. I want something that can make pretty much what ever I need it to. From a hobby stand point a 8x8 inch bed would probably be plenty i'm thinking but its hard to find anything that large without getting into the way above the 3000.00 range

Might be easier and cheaper just to buy one similar - I've been using these on my X8s.Just google DuBro Hatch Latch. They are about $3.00US

Hello all,

I'am new to this forum and currently digging through this thread, currently at page 300 ...

It's a great resource which answered already most of my questions and gave a lot of good ideas.

However, as my native langiage is not English I stumbled over some abbreviations for which I can't find any reasonable translation. You can for sure help me with that:

AUW (guess it's take-off weight or so?)
WOT

and there are some others which I do currently not remember - but will stumble over them again.

Hey Edgar -

Yes AUW is take-off weight, "All Up Weight"

WOT - is 100% throttle, "Wide Open Throttle" (obviously its a term from combustion engines carried over to electric.)

auw= all up weight and wot= wide open throttle
