Trainer with gyro's help with set up

My grandpa wants to get back into rc flying. He's 87. Its been a long time from the last time he flew.

He was asking if there are auto wing levels or gyros for any or all of the control surfaces.

Some help please in setting it up.

He has on order a Eflite Super Cub. I have a Eflite trainer for him to fly as well.

thanks jonathan

The installation and setup of gyros maybe a bit much for someone just getting into R/C. Also, gyros may provide stability but it does not necessarily turn any airplane into a trainer.

You might want to look into the Hobbyzone Super Cub with Anti Crash Technology:

Here's a link to the thread on Gyros that was started by Melnic, the same person that wrote up all the info in the above link on Gyros. Any questions you have you can post in the thread and Melnic can answer them for you.

I am not new to rc but only to gyros in planes. I have plenty flying time in just about everything. Nothing in gyros in planes though.

I wonder if it will make the Super Cub more like a trainer with the gyros though?

I was going to state the obvious, but how easy would it be to make a three channel plane the equivalent of a Blade mCX with a gyro or two? I have a couple GY401b to put in a 3D plane for fun, but haven't looked into it yet.

I wonder why Horizon hasn't put a gyro into a trainer 3ch plane yet?
