Counter-rotating rotor mechanism

Anyone know of a web site that explains the workings/assembly of a two bladed
counter-rotating rotor mechanism? I.E. the kind that would be used on VTOL.

How about a working scale model of the above drive mechanism - do any exist?

Think of your car diferential with two spur gearsdriving off the one pinion (drive shaft)
One spur gear shaft fits in the hollow shaft of the other.

I just came back from 2 weeks vacation in Turkey. While I was in the coastal town of Alanya last week I heard a strange, distant 'tacka tacka' noise which got closer and closer. To my utter amazement it turned out to be a Russian Kamov helicopter - the one with twin counter rotating rotors on a single shaft and no tail rotor. It then hovered about 50 feet away from me so I got a real close look. It was painted white, privately registered and I guess must have been 30 years old or more.

Awesome to see something that unexpected !!

Keith Shaw made a beautiful one a while back. Driven by an Astro flight cobalt motor for a Bugatti racer. I think. It is a work of art.
I don't have the pictures but one is wouth a thousand words. Search here for the pics. They will explain a lot, a lot more than I have.
