Swiss Post vs Hong Kong post

I bought some stuff from Leaders Hobby. They shipped it Swiss post on 11/7/2011. It still shows in transit on the Swiss Post website.

I have ordered a lot of things from overseas usually via Hong Kong post with very little trouble.

Has any on else had a problem with Swiss Post? Do the packages actually travel west through Europe ?

In my experience, yes they do travel west. For me they took longer since they were taking a "European tour".

When we lived in Singapore I'd order from HK quite often. When Swisspost was used the packages did indeed take a European vacation before making it back to Southeast Asia. Tracking info told of leaving/arriving in country of origin, country of transit, country of destination (or something like this).
Weird and it took a while but I always got my stuff.

I ordered from leadershobby and it came via Swisspost assuming because there were lipos on board. It left on 10/21 and arrived 11/5...no problems. 15-20 days they say is average and mine had no updates until it was delivered.

What I liked about HK Post was that the tracking# works when USPS gets it into their system.

The weirdest thing, now my tracking number has an error on Swiss post when I search for it.

Extra weird- Leaders sent me some "commercial sample parts" that came to me HK post. Not my order, just some T-rex 450 pro tail gears. It shipped 11/24/2011 and arrived today.

HK mistakenly shipped one of my orders via swiss post. It took the long way through the EU before eventually crossing the big pond. Total travel time was 6 weeks instead of the usual 1 to 1.5 weeks via hong kong post. On top of that swiss post tracking is worthless if it works at all. To wait 6 weeks is half of the summer up here in Canada. LOL

I know shipping lipo's is often done with swiss post. But try to find another option even if it's more money, or you will be waiting a very long time, with a high risk that you won't be able to track your package if it goes astray.

Just had another order shipped from Leadershobby but this time no lipos on board and it's coming HK Post. This holds true with HK and probably other China vendors as well now.

Leaders hobbies just verified that because the order contained a LIPO battery they had to send it Swiss post. From now on If I get batteries from China I will pay the extra price for EMS. Anything to avoid Swiss Post!!!

Update- Swiss post tracking,

Package left Hong Kong on November 11 2011. One month later December 12 2011 it was sent on from Zurich. I guess it will take 2 weeks to get here from Zurich.

Six weeks is unbelievable!!!!

Hobbyking to California via Swisspost takes 1 month. It does take the European route. Also it does eventually show up in the US mail tracking system but that is usually the day that it is out for delivery.

What is the best way to avoid Swiss Post?

They should not be in the business at all with the dismal service they provide.

Don't put any lipos in your order!
Again, I got my order in two weeks and am not sure if that's average or rare.

Are you saying that any lipo order coming out of China has to use Swiss Post?
