diagonal lines when using motor with video battery [FIXED]

Ok I've read on LC filters and so on.

In my setup (skywalker) the ESC powers the servos, receiver, and autopilot

A small 3s video battery powers the OSD, the video camera and the vtx

The picture is fine except under power when there are noticeable diagonal lines, not terrible, just a tad annoying.
I can't really locate the ESC away from proximity to cables.

So where would I try placing an LC filter?
in series with the ESC power output? or on the 3s video battery? in series with the video transmitter power? or the camera power?

or..

should I try shielding the cable bundle near the ESC because the diagonal lines must be EMF related?

make sure your prop. is very very very well balanced to start with

your video wires should be at least twisted or better jet spend the time braiding them

keep all wires as short as possable

most likely your have vibration problems because of your prop.

I balanced the prop and it is an expensive aeronaut cam carbon folding one.

don't think vibration in the airframe is causing it.
But I'll transmit on the ground then try applying a running dremel to vibe parts of the chassis, see how I go.

I solved the same problem by putting a ferrite ring on the video Tx wire (wire between the video Tx and the OSD\camera).

or just wrap the ESC in alu foil

even costly folding props. can be unbalanced and hard to balance

try holding your plane and give it power to motor and feel the vibrations if they are there or not

if still there with nice balanced prop. try holding the tx antenna or other antennas with your hand to see if this solves issues

shift some wires around by inches as well because this helps for better video as well
even milimeters of separation of video tx wires makes a large difference

before hard install always do the ground tests for placement and cg etc.

one plane I had with similar issues , all I had todo was move the tx and wires just a bit apart and away and all video was great

I also have mounted a video tx and esc stacked on top of eachother and had no video issues

carbon rods or strips are to be avoided if possable when video tx is positoned close to then, no touching of video tx or wires, the wires from camera are the same thing, keep nise and clear and free

I fixed it, yay!
the problem was one or both of two things.

The video cable to the VTX ran along the wing right next to the 12v power line to the vTX, and wing servo cable (which had 5v power).
I re-routed the video cable to gain over 2cm of gap between it and any other cables except for short parts of its length.
Second, I moved a home made cap+ferrite LC filter from just before the 12v battery feeds everything, to just the power line to the vTX.

I'm not sure which fixed. I suspect more isolation from parallel runs of the composite video cable near to power lines was the solution.
but now there are absolutely no diagonal lines under heavy power, it is impossible to tell from the video signal the difference between engine off and engine full!
