It's very durable and I've had to do a few repairs the inside of fuse is an easy fix with Popsicle sticks and the wing was easy with foam safe ca, the rest I used welders. I ke'd into a tree messing around and was able to put it back together with very little effort
any pictures, I'm most interested in how these repair

We don't have an alien slave workforce or even a Chinese slave workforce. We've got a good ol' red blooded Amish slave workforce cranking out foamies day and night and they don't work for peanuts. They work for potatoes and 50 bucks doesn't buy many potatoes! You gotta pay the mexicans minimum wage to pick em and the truck drivers to haul em over from Idaho. Planes and potatoes... It's a logistics nightmare I tell ya.

Then there's the workforce safety issues. You ever unwrap a beard from a milling machine? It ain't pretty.

I'm sure 3dhs are not sending their kits EMS all the way from China one kit at a time. The rest of us who get them from Bestvalue pay $30 odd for EMS from Hong Kong at around the $30-40 mark and it takes only 4-5 days door to door.

The average 20' container cost about USD3-4k to freight from China to the USA post. I bet you can fit a bucket load of these kits into a 20' container.

The pictures I posted are the post repair of an inverted full throttle landing. Ripped the firewall out. Repaired with Popsicle sticks and a piece of light ply. My last repair was a ke into a tree. Big chunk out of wing and tore the front up, again was an easy repair my balsa plane would of been totaled

I think the price is great. No grumbling from me.

I can't wait to get mine and get it together. It will be my new neighborhood flyer.

Exactly why I ordered mine. I have an shp in need of a motorbox and cowl and decided to try the power system in the extra. This will hopefully ad some bravery to my 48 edge flights without worrying about making balsa repairs. I want to get my rollers down low and work on my inverted harrier. The 33" epp extra is a great plane as well but flys soo much different than a balsa. I hope this bridges the gap in between.

Welders Lifespan

I have noticed that on all of my 1+year old EPP foamies - the Welders has turned yellowish and become quite brittle????

I think we need a test of the the Welders and several others such as Quick Grip from Beacon Adhesives (made for outdoor use) on some scrap EPP and see if any last longer and stay flexible.

Have any of you noticed the same?

I would like to see more lifespan on the glue we use.

Maybe I need to crash more and these foamies wont last so long??

Joe
