Yeah I would imagine the recommended setup or something very close to it is going to be the ticket. They do their research before making those recommendations. Looks like it is gong to only be a few ounces lighter than the 48" edge.

My hovercraft is full of eels.
Count me in. I've wanted an EPP plane in this size for a while. Already got a new Omega 130g and a new Gens Ace 3S 2200 in need of a plane. This will be perfect. Plus, my g/f paid for it.

Indeed, they are not particularly light, but they are very rigid and have way more energy through manoevers than any other foamy I have flown.I have the Skywing Extra 300,they also make a Yak,MXS and SBach in this size.
There are some detailed threads on each of these planes in 3D foamies, including power setups/props/servos etc.
There are also some great videos from Groovejet who has all four of the 48 size Skywing models.
Guys who are doing research on the 3DHS version of a Skywing plane could do worse than peruse those threads.

Yeah, I saw that Sbach. Yep. I did.

Checking out the other threads now.

Here's a nice vid of the MXS which looks very similar.

and here's a vid of the Extra 300.

Very nice planes indeed.

Oh Crap! I'm in a world of trouble now! I really think I'm gonna have to have this one.Actually, I may wait a bit, see if there's a 48 in AJ Slick in EPP down the pike! Now THAT would be an instant buy for me.

Are your sure you can get skywing stuff from when the site shows:

and says:

What does the breaking news mean?
If you are a customer outside the US, you should not be affected.

If you are a customer inside the US, we will not be allowed to ship SkyWing products to you after September 30th. In fact, SkyWing products will be kept away from the US. Eventually, you will find products similar to the current SkyWing offerings in the US, but under a different brand name. When will that happen? We don't know.

Told ya..
Look on the bright side, you get access to arguably the best size big rigid foamies,a small company that is making great airframes for us to enjoy gets access to a huge market with a top notch distributor(who knows what could be next?),the price is pretty good when you consider the quality, and many more people get to experience what a rigid new generation foamy is capable of.
Downside, sure they cost a bit more than we can get them for(in Oz),but shipping always bites back that difference anyways.
These are brilliant practise planes, they have nearly the same mass as a similar size balsa, yet are easily fixable.(I say easily fixable as you can't just plough them in like a profile EPP,they have breakable structure inside, but easier than balsa)
You will forget the price after a couple of flights I assure you.
One thing I would like to know is:What changes,if any has 3DHS made to the basic structure or setup of this plane as compared to the other 4 Skywing planes in the range?(not that there is much wrong with them)
Can the first one to get one please post some detailed photos?
