A few noob questions, could that "programmer thingy" that is in the picture on GLB site (that you get with the ff board) also be used to programme alternative firmwares on the board...Or is that used just to connect the board to the computer and not to put new firmwares onto the board?

The firmware that is originally on the board is not available for download right, so if I put multiwii on I wouldn't be able to go back to the stock firmware right?

Another noob question, would it be ok if I were to connect those bmp085 pins on the ff board with a bmo085 breakout board, maybe that would be easier to solder for noobs, or I'll find somebody locally who can solder this for me.

Well, I asked Mr. JUERGEN_ to download the firmware off the board but he seems to be too busy to get it done. Since the "firmware update tool" is just a STMicro Flash Loader utility, any future (any?) firmware updates that come from goodluckbuy/freeflight *should* be clear hex files that you can just load as usual. Until someone with JTAG/SWD adapter downloads the current firmware off one of these boards (or find out if its possible or not incase its readout locked), consider any messing with firmware as a one-way trip much like ESC reflashing.

And yes, STM supports firmware update over serial, which is how the official download tool off goodluckbuy works.

I wouldn't bother with BMP085 until someone actually confirms the firmware even makes use of it.

Yeah I would have my quad with FF original firmware....But I would like another one for airplane stabilization and autoleveling, for this I would need multiwii since it has that aeroplane mode (although in testing phase still)...Maybe it would be best to buy 2 boards (if I'll conquer my cheapness)

If you need a board for HEXA or OCTO why not getting one of these?
I´m waiting for my FF but will get one Rabbit flight for a HEXA or OCTO I will build shortly (still not sure which setup to choose)

Ya, I saw the Rabbit FC but it doesn't look like there is any english supported software for it yet, which makes it pointless to get for the time being, the hardware does look promising, but I can't justify getting it till someone makes an english manual and software.

I was thinking maybe going with the MWC for my hex, I'll save my FF controller for an upcoming quad build.

What makes this board able to auto stabilize from the "throw into the air" test? Could the original multiwii not do that?
