Sure, I'll bring it as soon as I fix her up. But you gotta fly it though. Since I an not good yet. LOL

I'm kind of curious how much the voltage bounces back from that point since most people only have a voltmeter to check (estimate) battery charge level. Might want to do it at 360 sec (6 min mark) also.
I'll take a look at what I can do as soon as I get a chance.

Me!! The only fixed wing RC time I have is a 2ch glider 20 years ago lol. I am thinking a UM Champ would be good to learn on. BTW I am now subscribed to the UM Corsair thread.

Off Topic: I bought a Sky Surfer for my first plane ... seems like a perfect plane for learning and also flys really well. I bought the RTF version with brushless motor. Should be fun, and now that I can fly 4-ch helis it should be a easy transition to 4-ch planes since the controls are very similar.

Clutching = Motor

It looks like a motor thing ..

I had two flights this morning no issue , its warmer now , and its started doing it again ...

Put my finger to the motor = Yeah its hot

Looks like the motor is trying to seize up .....

OK update

I oiled the motor as best I could ..

Turned it upside down , and where the drive cog is put oil then rotated motor , then added more oil , and once again ..

Then ran the motor [ power ] upside down so that the oil would work its way down - or up depending on your orientation ..

Then flew the V911 less the canopy , and sweet ... motor was cool to the touch after running down a battery ...

Could it be a lack of lube or airflow ? no seizures this time ..

I am not sure where you're going with this...

Discharging at 1A for 5mins. It dropped to 3.48v. Then letting the battery rest for 5mins. It bounced back to 3.805v.

I drained a total of 81mAh, which is 67.5% of the 120mAh capacity.

I didn't do the 6min mark test.

old4570: I think lube. I have seen good results with lubing up the motor too.

For the misbehaving motors, I believe some people share that they soak the entire motor in the lube and it works great after that.

Exactly what kind of lube is everybody using? WD-40, motor oil, silicone spray, tranny fluid or what?

oil

V911.flv (0 min 29 sec)

I used motor oil , 10-40 ? maybe for weight ,

Motor sounds much better now , and runs cool - less canopy - Video included
Its a bear to fly without the canopy is the CG is so far back without it ..

I will try with the canopy , and see if the motor gets hot ...

Happy New Year Aaron!! Hope you had a good celebration. Is it safe to order now...................and where are those cheaper prices?

I have 4-5 co workers as far as myself that are going to be putting an order in and wanted to get some spares as well.

Is it possible for you to start carrying the Xtreme upgrades for this heli?

Thanks.
