they changed the blades and head as well, supposed to be a stronger design but I'm still breaking blades like crazy in the same place as the old style.

Thanks, erd. I'll order those if I have to but I'm trying to hold out for banggood to start selling them. 8 bucks with shipping is a lot for one pair of blades (relative to the cost of a BNF). I'm also not a fan of the lightning graphics, but that's not a big deal.

Most important purchase right next to decent charger.
Or get a walkera devotion 10 and run the deviation firmware then install the module from the v911 tx into the devo 10 tx and that devo 10'can use for al walkera blade wltoys etc

As soon as my replacement motors come in, i'll be trying that out for some good "wind exercises".
It'll blow your mind !

If you have the time and inclination I suppose you might return it, depends where you bought it.
Otherwise, and if you can't fix it with soldering, the next best option is probably to get a BNF (helicopter only) from somewhere like banggood, just make sure you get one with the same battery connector. Being positive, at least you'll have a good stock of spare parts then.

Sorry you got a faulty one.
Thanks for replying.
Bang Good have offered to send me another board. That;s where i bought it. So its another long wait.

But won't u get limited range using the module from the toy Tx?

You're right. It's not a fullrange module. But how far do you want to fly?
You would loose the v911 out of sight before out of transmitter range

You'll only use the tx module from the v911 tx to control only stuff you would use the v911 tx for for other stuff you use the built in full range power for say stuff like the blades walkera or spektrum

Off topic warning...

So, when do you think the Chinese will be able to clone these spy helis and make it available for us to play with? According to the article, these 4in helicopters "deliver full video and stills and can ably maneuver in high wind."

Wonder what powers it. Cuz if it's the same 160mAh lipo, the copters will probably go down before they can be effective.

If the Chinese get their hands on one you can count on it being cloned.
I hope they do. It will be good for the hobby. They can also help the military cut costs.
Military can buy their stuff from Banggood.

How can that fly in wind unless its collective pitch? And some serious stabilized software.

Perhaps due to it's sophisticated software and the size. On the quadcopters, the smaller quads actually penetrates the wind better than say a mQX sized quad.

Also, that spy copter looks like it has a brushless tail. Perhaps it's main motor is also brushless. With a high head speed, it can cut through the wind better.

I just don't know how much battery you can fit inside that small copter to make it actually feesible on the field. Perhaps it has some advance battery technology not yet available to us hobbyist?

It's just fun to think of some of that tech trickling down to the v911 clones.

That's my guess, since it claims to run up to 30 minutes on it's battery.

Whatever is in there could revolutionize this hobby, I'm guessing.
