It took my package 4 days to travel HK- Poland and now it's under customs review since 5 days ... they requested invoice and wire confirmation and probably i will be VAT taxed ... which means few days more waiting ... ... ...

Lucky you guys living in less restrictive jurdistrictions

Turnigy Nano Tech 160mAh

Today I got 2 Turnigy Nano Tech 160mAh lipos, I already had one of those mysterious battery connectors (SKU026090). Against Hobbykings advice, these do not fit the v911 without mods. I swapped the connector housings and got it working

battery connectors are not compatible, the 160mAh battery is just few mm longer:

Take some small pliers and cut off the stock connector, just the plastic, not the metal terminals, they are needed! Be careful not to cut through the wires an especially pay attention not to shorten the battery terminals.

Once the old plastic housing is removed, run both battery terminals through the new connector housing and slide the connector fully onto the battery. Now, take each battery terminal and slide it into the new connector, they are a 100% match and fit staright into the rails of the new connector as if they were made for it. secure everything with hot glue (use less than I did )

Fits into the v911, though there is no limiter, but you could have a drop of hot glue or something else if you want one:

... and the charger:

One suggestion to (try to) determine if the motor is bad, throttle up and apply full right rudder (hold the heli in hand, needless to say); if the motor (and rx) is working properly, then the tail rotor should spin at max speed.

Thanks for the link ryknoll3.

So, $1.17 for the battery, $0.99 for the connector, plus shipping; my guess is then around $2.50 to $3.00 each for the Turnigy-Nano route. I think extra stock batteries are available for that much shipped.

My question is, how much better are the Turnigy-Nano's compared to stock? What is the consensus here?

Stock is 130 mAh or even a bit less ??

Turninigy are 160 mAh (and nano tech should be better than std lipo but most probably it's bsh*t)

these batteries look like they have the correct connector, but unsure if they are compatible

Mulder:

Do you see any improvement from the Turnigy batteries?
Longer flights, more punch?

Would the turnigies fit (I mean slide into) the battery well of the V911, but just not stay?
I was thinking from looking at your pics like if you glued something in the slots on the turnigies to make like the rails on the V911?

I still dont understand, why you guys are all keep on discussing which batteries and how and how to change the connectors etc.

NE changed their battery style a while ago - this is why the chargers for NE were labeled "Solo Pro - New Model" for some time.

Wouldnt the easiest just be to "give" the V911 an original solo pro landing skid with the "right" plug - then the whole "battery drama" would just EVAPORATE ...
