Where is the best place to pick one of these up and do they still bind to the 9x transmitters? If so I'm looking for some place to get a BNF one.

These both are still using the "old" batteries.

Thanks for the info. Next question is are there any BNF with the new connector and battery?

I noticed the solo pro was said to have better forward flight performance so are there any other 9x compatible micro's with better features?

Why not get a BNF for cheap ($24 including batteries and charger) and check it yourself ?
I think you won't find any better in this price range.

I'm in the midst of a quadcopter build so spare funds are being diverted to that so this micro heli is going on my xmas list so I can practice with the 9x over the winter.

But I will do some more searching.

Is there a good way to remove the battery connections from the skid without unsoldering the wires?

I think thats probably the best bet and I see there are plenty of mods for using various batteries from hobby king or where ever.

Yes, but the original batteries have the best punch.

I am just trying to replace my overly broken skids. My new skids did not come with the battery wires/tabs.I did some more searching and found some answers.I should have done that first..It looks like a pain to accomplish.

You can wiggle the tabs out of the skids but it is a major pain. And it is easy to break the little solder tab if you bend them the wrong way while removing them.

I bought some with the wires attached at $3.10 for a 3-pack. Makes life simple - except for the 4-5 week wait.
