First good fly in a while.
I had a great fly today (just down the road from work), first with my modded R/W, which I found hard to control and ended up crashing spectacularly and breaking the tail motor wires.
I then got out the stock yellow clone, which was a dream to fly even in the moderate wind. Finally got some thumb muscle training doing some fast banked turns both right and left, along with elevator/throttle adjustments trying to keep it at a set altitude in changing winds. Interesting to see the interest from passers by (even with my amateur piloting!) I had an audience several times over the three batteries I put through it. I can see another yellow being ordered soon, and then what? I would like a mini/micro CP but I would destroy it quickly with my current skills. Come on WL toys - cheap CP heli now please! |

I ordered one of these http://www.xheli.com/exceedheli-x100...24g-devo7.html Seems to be the best deal out there on a 6 ch with a decent radio. I'm like you, I'd be a lot happier if WL made a 6 ch that would cost around $50 and bind to a 9X. Would probably be a better heli. We can only hope they listen to us and deliver.

That's why I'm asking users sometimes to use the search function. Some threads are "bloated" by that. The cat bites her tail as the thread gets bigger, new user don't want to search because of too many pages, so he writes a post with the question ->Thread gets bigger....and so on. We should support the WLToys- wiki somebody made. This could/should help a bit |

If you don't mind, PM me after you get it. I might want to ask you a few questions about it, the 4ch. 6 axis control mode and some v911 comparisons so I can decide if it is right for me. I know it is very different, I just don't have anything else to compare to and want an idea of what it is. Quote:

Easy to ignore post you don't want to deal with.
I'm building my first 450. Started a thread in the micro heli forums asking for help. I got "do a search" replies. To a noob, there can be so much info out there that even where to find it becomes a confusing task due to being overwhelmed. Then there is a the question of "out of the million posts, which is correct?". Very easy to read a post with bad info on it that is corrected many pages forward. It's the reason I bought my V911 RTF instead of BNF which would have worked and been cheaper. |

I guess I opened a can o worms. I did a search on "binding yellow V911" Over half the responses were binding it to the stock TX and I wanted to bind to my FS9X. Several different answers popped up and methods varied. I actually had the heli bound but the throttle wouldnt work. Thats when Mag718 was kind enough to suggest I go into the radio menu and reset the throttle points. Mission acomplished. I mentioned before I'm memory challenged ( I hate political correctness) I'd much rather say I CRS. When you're communicating with a person on a forum you dont know what's going on in their life. Their dog could have just been ran over, their spouse could have left them, could have recently lost a love one or in this day and age a job. That person could be mentally or physically handicapped, you dont know. There's no excuse for being rude to a fellow pilot with a question. If you dont want to get involved move on. If you think you're mentally superior because you know the answer dont be a smarta$$ about it.Searches dont always work, in my case it didnt. Even if a person hasnt tried to search, whats wrong with lending a helping hand a pointing them in the right direction. It gives a newb more confidence when he or she is communicating with a live pilot, not something that was written 3 mos or 3 yrs ago. There's only so much that can be repaired with a $20 heli with a half dozen moving parts. There's only so many mods one can make. I'm sure 99% of it has already been covered. I f you've read and understand all the 700+ pages on this thread you're basically wasting your time hanging out here. Maybe once every 6 mos something new will come out like the yellow clone but its the newbs and their discussion with experienced pilots who are willing to help out that will keep this thread going.

Best to answer their questions and point to a link if you have one. Message #00001 is a good start. https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1548027 --- They do not show up in the search function (as 9x transmitter) because they never mentioned that they were talking about binding to the 9x transmitter. So it takes a while to figure out what they are posting about. Searching for "9x" in this V911 message thread helps narrow it down. |

Guys, I think we all know the feeling and/or been yelled at in a thread that your new with/know nothing much about the matter topic.
Like when you ask a question that has been answered a hundred times over thousands of posts and hundreds of pages. Sure you can do a 'search' or do old trick of reading the first 1/2 dozen posts and the last 1/2 dozen posts. I see nothing wrong with asking a newbie question that could found in 10 minutes of searching, however it's not gunna kill an 'expert' on the topic to give a quick answer that only takes them a lousy 10 seconds to type in off the of their head. The worst ones for giving you a good yelling at are the ones that believe that they are THE #1 EXPERT on that topic at hand and think you should spend 30 minutes searching rather than have them spend 15 seconds reading your question and 20 seconds providing/typing an answer or give a link to relevant alternate thread or post number. The 'best Expert' response is the one that goes 'Use the forum search function' or even better 'Google it' !!! Now what was my question?! Oh that's right, can some suggest: 1/ Where I get the best flybar and/or paddles for the V911 ( as I mentioned mentioned in the past, I made my paddles out of a cardboard drink coaster!) 2/Where's the place to get replacement main and tail motors, 3/I'd like to move onto a CP in the V911 micro size, what is most popular/suggested heli get? <- This is my main question. I'm hoping WL Toys will come out with one soon (a CP Micro), that comes with just heli that can be bound to a Turnigy/FrySky or to a 9X Modded to FrSky RF. (DHT TX & DSR-II RX) I have a #22, #36 Walkera, but they are very old and piles of crap. Also have a HK T-500 clone, but it got a lot of damage to the head, main blades and a few other things when my DX6i aileron pot wiring failed. (My fault, the pot plug was not inserted fully after I did a mod to put a blue LED backlight in) It was crashed by our club instructor and I feel really bad that it was my fault that the radio failed, even after he fully checked the heli over and corrected a few minor things I did not have adjusted correctly. The crash scared me so much, that I'm not gunna do any real flying of the T500 again until I've had some practice on a MUCH smaller CP Heli. I'd like to get a Nine Eagles Solo Pro 180A, if they were BnF so I could use my own TX/RX's. Just wish WL Toys would come out with a Micro CP soon. -B!LL! |

I'm aware of the previous posts that have been pointed out detailing the settings. I'm asking what this person has changed. It sucks that with all the talk of searches and re-asking previously asked questions, I feel the need to say that. People who say "Google it!" have been known to die. |
