I think that would have to be a non-ferrous one, e.g. aluminium, but I would think a closed cardboard box would work better - it's distancing the magnets from the scales that counts.

I wouldn't have thought of it either, and I guess it applies to weighing servos too.

Actually I was going to try a ferrous tray to contain the magnetic field

I don't think it will work, Terry. If you put a bit of steel on the end of a magnet, it effectively becomes part of the magnet.

The strength of the field drops off quite quickly with distance though, so all you need is something to distance the magnets from the pan of the scales, e.g. an empty box, a couple of inches thick, that you can stand things on top of.

Rx42 DSM2 Micro Actuator Receiver with 2A ESC and Connectors pre-fitted

Rx42 DSM2 Micro Actuator Receiver with 2A ESC and Connectors

Weight: 0.68 gm

A customised version of the Rx42, sold by Micron Radio Control (UK), which has Plantraco style motor and actuator sockets fitted, plus a short (35mm) power lead with a 2 pin polarised micro connector (pin is positive, socket is negative EDIT: so on the battery, the socket has to be positive, and the pin has to be negative).

http://www.micronradiocontrol.co.uk/...2_conn_2pinpwr

Other wiring options are available on request. I ordered one with a JST-SH servo socket for Pad C on a short trailing cable. Unfortunately, I forgot to weigh it before I sent it to DT to be reflashed. I'll do it when it comes back.

SuperMicro Systems Mi-LSM1300 linear servo

Quoted Specs:
Size: 18.1mm x 15.2mm x 7.8mm
Servo throw: 8mm
Weight: 1.1g (wires not included)
Torque: 35g @ 4.2V
Speed: 0.12s @ 4.2V
Voltage: 3.0V~4.2V

Actually weighs 10.7g for eight servos (to 0.1g) = 1.34g each (with cable and JST-SH plug for AR6400 / DT Rx33, as sold)

Sources: Micron Radio Control (UK) / HobbyKing (also known as HK1300 Single Linear Servo)

Not exactly a micro component, but just for reference:

Orange R610 2.4GHz 6CH DSM2 receiver in orange plastic case (as sold) 9.7g

Orange R410 2.4GHz 4CH DSM2 receiver (no case, as sold, plus some heatshrink to protect it, added by me) 2.6g

- Both of those are for Futaba / JR servo plugs. I have used both types on indoor planes - FlyingWings Bongo (6CH Rx) and MiniBongo (4CH Rx, used with "3.7g" servos)

boredom.is.me,

Are you planning to add the weights people are contributing to the tables in your first two posts?

I update it continuously. It has doubled in size from when I first posted.

I would prefer to not add modded weights because the human variable is very large.
