An Italian DAG-60 is growing!

Hi guys!

Here are some pics of my dag 60 autogiro.
Got it this summer, the building is getting slow because of the fact that I haven't got any electricity on my SkyLab and days are always shorter.

I'm going to put a 1.20PH FS on it. I had a positive experience with this motor. They run smoot and slow! Yhea!

First question: How sould i complete my balsa blade after i glued the 1/8 wire to the leading edge? Just cover them with oracover or similar or do I need to apply fiberglass to them?

Sorry for the quality, I do promise next will be better!

On the blades, I defiantly would not fiberglass them. Too stiff. Just cover them.
My two cents.

Looking very clean, very good.

I use "balsaloc" to help ballance the blades before covering in "Oracover".

I can add 2 or 3 coats to get the ballance right, or just extra coats on the end of a blade to get the centre-of-ballance of all blades the same.

Hope this helps

Regards
Andy

Made a little on the DAG.

I put the tank support inside the fuselage, bent all of the landing gear member, and started to work on the must.

Here are a few few-quality pics taken with my mobile.

Looking great!!! I think the hardest part for me on this beast was the landing gear...lots of bends.

Thanks for the pics!

It's the same for me.
Once i bent them, they didn't fit properly. Getting one part to fit means to be wrong on the other side!

My patience will win!

Every part of the landing gear has been bent!
I only need to make the landing gear home in the fuselage and than solder every thing together

Here I am!
Hi everybody!

The work proceeds slowly. Here is the last ver. of landing gear. I'm ready to solder, But recently I realized that the acetylene cylinder is empty.
Infact I could not light-up the dart to solder. Also the borax got humid.

Doesn't matter, on saturday i will be ready again.

Other things are almost done, I'm very happy.

It's the moment to setup the rotor and other angles like hang angle, down-thrust(or trust?) and so on.

Any tip, numbers?
