Proboat Arleigh Burke vs PT Boat

Fortunate to be working again allows me the cash to make a new purchase, but unfortuantely I am short on time. I have been looking at both the Arleigh Burke and PT Boat by Proboat as an option.

Any thoughts on either? I want The Good, The Bad and The Ugly on both to help me decide.

The burke can still be purchased brand new and relatively cheap.

Good news that you are back to work. No specific information on either boat but they would seem to suit two different "missions". PT might be more practical for everyday running while the Arleigh Berke might be "different", and therefore more interesting to some for that reason. is the AB a popular scale like 1/96?

One of our guys had a AB at a show we did in August. It ran nice and looked very good on the water. His only complaint is all the small details can take a beating. He's in a wheelchair so his boats get handled by anybody handy to help out.

Our local HTUSA has a couple of them on the shelf priced at two bills. Not bad for a model that started out in the 700 range IIRC.

Witch Boat???

For a daily runner, the PT, it does't care what type of day it is. The AB, on the other hand, likes calm winds and very little in waves!! CaptCB

Th only HTUSA in NJ is in Newton (half way between Newark & Wilkes-Barre) from the store locator on the website. Maybe you could try calling the West Allis WI store and see if the owner would ship to you since there isn't a dealer near you. http://www.hobbytown.com/West_Allis-WI/
