I have an OS 55AX on the shelf dying for a new home. I really love the 3DHS airplanes and never even considered a glow conversion until I found this thread. Can anybody recommend a good airframe for this motor? I prefer the Slicks and Extras etc. Absolutely love the looks of the 48" Super Viper. Not a 3D flyer, mostly sport aerobatic etc. Thanks.

I converted my 48" super vyper to run on a little os 32. Maybe you would want to try doing something like that and use what you learned to scale it up to a 59" slick or 57" extra.

Hey Josef086, thanks for the reply.

I'm definitely going to try something like that in the future. After a bunch of research I came across an SBACH from Goldwing that's already set up for glow so I'm going to try that first. I'll definitely be trying a 3DHS conversion in the near future as I have a couple of 2 stroke glow engines lying around that need a home. I just don't have the resources ($$$$) right now to go full gas/large scale but these conversions will certainly get me started. Here's what I'm getting: It's a Goldwing SBACH 342 3D70. 60" wingspan, 5ish pounds RTF. Should be just about perfect for the OS 55AX. I'll post a build thread when it get's here.

I was wondering if anyone might have some insight if I were to use an old OS Max 25F SR in a 42" Slick or possibly a 41" Edge if that combo would work for 3D? I have an the old OS laying around and think it would be cool to do a nitro conversion. I currently have a 42" Slick that I was thinking of using for the conversion and just getting another plane to do an electric setup on. What are your guys thoughts?

I think the slick would work but the little edge it would probally be to much for it

I would go with the 57" Extra or 59" Slick for the little gas engine.
