What's the longest you have been awake?

I am currently working on a new personal record. Im not bragging just stating fact!

11/16/2011
-0700 awakened early by girlfriend
-1300 arrived at work for a double shift
-2100 finished first shift
-2230 started second shift

11/17/2011
-0430 finished second shift
- 0830 arrived at airport for flight
-1130 arived at destination
-1300 finished meeting
-1830 finished 4 hour drive back from destination (flight was going to be too late)

-2010 posted this log on rcgroups

Left to go:

2230 start second night shift

11/18/2011

0430h Finish second shift

0500 crawl in bed

so I will have been awake with no sleep from 11/16/2011 0700h until 11/18/2011 0500 hours or 46 hours total.

Not fun

Wow!! I spent several stints like that when I was doing a lot of sailing. All of a sudden, you realize there are only 2-3 people on the boat that can handle the rough weather and then it's on Many hours with rain keeping me awake.

Well, there was this one time I was watching a video of Megan Fox eating an ice cream cone and the replay button got stuck.

I've done a few no-sleep'ers and after awhile I kick on autopilot but after it's over I'm just burned out. I don't think you ever get used to it and it can't be good for you.

I used to suffer from insomnia when I was a teen. In college, when stress got bad, insomnia got worse. Longest stint with no sleep was one of my "finals" weeks. Woke up Monday morning, went to sleep Thursday afternoon. I was having minor hallucinations by the time I finally crashed.

Never again. Started learning good stress management techniques and eventually no more insomnia.

Several years ago, went 79 hours.

Slept for 22 hours after that, and was having some fierce hallucinations the last 10 hours of the awake period.

Damn, that was some good coke...er, umm, drugs are bad for you!

In January I was up for 43 hours straight. Drove 1500 miles in 22 hours by myself to the Florida Keys. Did not go to bed until about 1 am that second day. The last few hours I felt like I was drunk, slow motor skills and started slurring my words. Did not fly my Heli until I had a good nights sleep.

I have gone 46 hours a few times and its not much fun. Even after being up for that long I was up in five hours and ready for the day. I don't sleep much so I felt fine.

Military training exercise, I can recall 72 hours - not fun and I actually fell asleep during a nightime compass march where you pin a white paper square on a buddy, he walks on your compass bearing across the moor for about ten paces - rinse and repeat - one stop I just didn't start again - fast asleep bolt upright!

2-day Jefferson Airplane concert and the crew party at the end of the first night. Might have been something in the punch.
