Update on 6S 2650mah 20C

My findings on the 6S 2650mah 20C after 18 flights on my Protos 500 heli...

Comparison against:
Gens Ace 2500mah 25C with 70 cycles
Banana Hobby Genesis 6S 2800mah 55C with 30 cycles

Temperature of the pack after 3D flights are a bit cooler to the touch than when I was breaking the packs in for 5 cycles doing hovering only.
Gens Ace: 112F
Genesis: 119F
Haiyin: 119F

IR per cell (average) on PL8 when doing storage charge from about 25% capacity (lipo temp about 82F). Yes I know temp is a bit high for IR readings:
Gens Ace: 3.06
Genesis: 3.45
Haiyin: 3.59

This Haiyin 20C pack's cells are not well matched in that there is a spread of 0.8 to 0.9 milliohms between min and max. 3 cells have IR between 3.2 to 3.3 and the other 3 cells have an IR of 3.8 to 4.1. Hence the average cell IR does not show the whole picture. This lipo is the last one to come off the charger because it takes a bit longer to balance. About 5 to 8 minutes longer. Cell #2 seems to always be lagging.

I haven't tested capacity but I do know that it does have more than my Gens Ace 2500 after similar flights.

So I feel the Haiyin 6S 2650 20C lipo is just that. An OK 20C lipo.
The Genesis lipo on the other hand is way overrated. More like an average 30C.

Here is a comparison of partial eagle tree logs for voltage during flights. It's tough to do the same flight for each pack on a heli. So the voltage curves can't be compared at each point. But one can still tell the difference between packs at between the 0.2 and 0.45 marks where I did a hard climb out.

I just placed an order for a 6S 2650 40C for comparison and 2 x 6S 3600 30C for my Logo 600 which I fly in 12S config. I really didn't need any more lipos. I have way more Sky 30C & 40C and Gens Ace lipos than I have time to fly. But I'm curious to find another comparable brand to the Gens Ace 25C.

A lot of people have problems with Hobby Partz and they are usually out of stock for long periods of time of the more popular sizes for 600 size helis. There are quite a few people on helifreak.com that are fed up with Hobby Partz. So it would be nice to find something else at a similar price point.

Can you get 5S 5000 Mah Haiyins in 40C?

I looked but can only find up to 30C for the 5 Cell 5000 Mah Packs at Haiyinstore...

No. I had to go 20C on those packs. I wonder why they don't have 40C...

I Know, Its really wierd they have that missing from their range.

Just my luck really because I like to run 5S on a MMM/CC1515/2200kv in a Hyper ST Pro.

30C is probably enough, But I love running things well below their capacity so they last :-)

I do have some Sky Lipo 5S 5000 40C packs so I figured I could compare them. :-)

Got my batteries yesterday in the mail. Ordered on Tuesday and got them Friday.

All the cells were pretty close out of the box. They all came right up even together on the first charge. Can't wait to go flying!

Take it you ordered the 20C 5S 5000's rather than 30C?

Or are Highest C rated 5s 5000 actually 20C cont 30C burst?

Cheers, I was just wondering whether the ratings they are stated as were their Burst rather than cont C.....

I'll Likely be ordering 3x 5s 5000 30C once the new European warehouse opens for business.

Their lipos state Continuous - Burst. So 20-30C means 20C continuous, 30C Burst.

alexf1852 I really appreciate what you do, it's very useable, valuable and written in laymans terms, thank you.
My 6s 5000mah 40c's are doing very well in a 12 cell series/set-up, very well. No excess heat, no swelling (THAT drives me nuts), and very nice, smooth, useable power. They aren't as strong and as strong as long as my 2 ThunderPower 5000mah 65C's are but they sure as hell shouldn't be at that price.
I've got a couple 32OOmah (or so, I need more coffee) 3 cells 40c's for my foam warbirds and they've been very good, no complaints. Doug

I have been using only 3 of the 3s 2200 30c packs and so far I like them, they are nice even power for me anyway and charge up very nice and even, they never have shown any heat issue's or pack swelling. They are as strong as any other battery in the box.

Took my 1/4 H9 cub flying this weekend. I run a 10S setup. I didn't have any logging turned on but I could definitely tell a noticeable differnece between my new Haiyin packs and the Sky Lipo's that I have been running. The plane had a lot more pull in the vertical lines. Looking forward to some more flying once the weather cooperates.

I showed my new packs to the guys at the club and a few of them are going to order some packs to try out.
