Build Tip

I was having trouble cutting out the servo covers and getting a tight fit. I warmed them up to 140F and my xacto blade went through them like butter. Super clean and tight and no chipping. The plywood frames for the covers in the kit work great.
The stock air retracts bolt right in. I am loving this kit!

Thanks for sharing!

Just be sure not to keep them warm for too long; they are epoxy-glass and could warp if you inadvertently bend them while cutting... but yes, the plywood frames do help stiffen them back up!

Just got mine. Pretty much what I expected. Not bad for what you get, but not 10/10 quality either (top hinged ailerons, center hinged flaps???, flimsy rudder, inadequate rudder mount, nose gear hatch not precut and no spare once you dremel the one out, control horns dont reach to center of hinge line ect). HOWEVER, its a perfect size though, pretty light, and since it looks like a Bandit, should fly like a Bandit which is all I care about!

Im no fan of air retracts and started the night off looking at how some various makes I have laying around fit. The nose gear former needs a whack to get any electric retract in so far, but not bad. All it needs a mounting plate set to the correct depth and it should work ok. Shown are with some Shulman Etracts. Need some work, but I think theyll be ok.

Im going with a light, "low" power setup. JetFan 90, ARC motor, 6s 5000 65c TP's.

Missed that question some how...

I'll get it weighed asap and let you know.

I have a problem with one of the retracts in the wing.
It seems to be sticking, holding pressure some how. It will go up fine, but then when I release the pressure it sticks up, and I can't even pull it down. It's like it's locked up there. After 30seconds or so i guess the pressure drops enough for me to pull it down.

Any ideas? They are the spring down/air up HET retracts.

check for interference, loosen the screws that mount the retract and see if it starts working, nothing can be interference with the strut or wheel. also check to make sure the retract mount flanges sit level on the mount surface

squeeze?

To add to that suggestion, remove it from the wing without unplugging the air hose and test it, most times I had that problem, the side frames where squeezing the trunion, so I would say, check for that.

I had the same problem and it turned out that the mount surface for the retract was uneven and tightening down the retract actually tweaked the retract frame enough to bind up. A big flat wheel on my dremel got the mounting surface nice and flat so I was able to tighten down the retract with no binding.
