Have not; I'll be using Hyperion digital servos.

will hs82mg's work for this plane. they are 50ozs of torque on 6v so I am assuming they will. i am thinking about this fan. trying to find out if it is truly ready to run. dont feel like messing around with balancing. been down that road with these 12 blade fans....it sucks. haha

Hitech makes good stuff and 82MG's are good economical servos.
They would work well on the Ailerons, Flaps, Rudder and Steering, but I would definitely stick something a little beefier on the Elevator regardless of what Stab. version you're building.

I'm using 5085's all round.

Vic what sort of torque are you thinking on the elevator?

Bad Combo

I guess I will say it again;

Do NOT even think about using them if you have a Futaba Radio and plan on running 6V. I tested them and they worked fine with JR, Spektrum, Airtronics BUT with a Futaba RX and TX The servos will go crazy after little use and when you least expect them. I learned the hard way after they destroyed my MIG-15

Ralph,
Thats interesting, wonder why that is exactly. I use JR systems but still thats a bit unsettling.

Servos

Brian,

I used HS65MG on Aileron and Rudder. Futaba 3102 on each elevator half and flap with my XL, I am also running 6V for RX. Now I have been using the 82MG for most of my applications on EDF and would of used them here too, but since I was using a Futaba RX and I had plenty of 3102's I used those.

Some pics. Best I could do.
Inside wall is now just 3/8 white foam and lots of heavily "ballooned" epoxy.
diverter wall is 1/64 ply to make it flat and as smooth as possible.
To the best of my calculations, intake is still 100% FSA
Came out well I think. We'll see when it flys.
Your splitters look pretty cool!

Why can't the manufacturers figure out that all they do by using too big an intake is slow the plane down by adding drag?

Cool, thanks. I used 3102's on all surfaces of my Blaze which is heavier and faster than the Sniper. They work great. They have a little more torque than an 82 or 85, but I find the 3102 to have a ton of play in the gears and unless I use the inner most hole on the servo arm it translates to a lot of play at the control horn.

Yep

I had to borrow a couple of TX to test it out and to be clear, the servos seem to work FINE in 4.8V but can't stand 6.0V with a Futuba RX

I'll be using a Hyperion DS16FMD (Digital/Metal Gear) for Elevator.
It's overkill, with 152.8oz/in. on 6v.
