Hi Steve W
A contestant can use three models if they wish. Also there are three attempts at three official flights. IE up to six launches. To expand even further a pilot can use the attempts how they wish.
It could be a situation where the last flight a contestant could have 4 launches. With the 4th launch the official flight. Hope that makes sence and a bit different to most contests.
All to make it a no pressure contest. Having said that the first four places were within a few seconds of the 3 hour task and that was flying between the trees as the finish gate. What I saw was some fast flying through the gate.
I am aiming to demonstrate that slope flying can a legit event together with thermal flying as a contest for LSF. I would like to think that I could get more than 20 contestants and have a Manilla Slope as one of the 6 contest for my LSF.
I have sent Ian Roach a report for AIRBORNE.
Hope you can find the time from looking after the event to take part in 2013.
