Nicely done!
And a great example of how tenuous our "control" really is.
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, everyone, for the input.
I'll probably test fly with the carbon filled 8x4.5SF gemfans if I can get them to balance.
I'll decide then if they stay on for initial flights, etc.
I'm going on and ordering a set of 8x3.8SF APCs (that's as aggressive as APC makes in 8" SF) as backup...
Not carrying any payload at present, as this is the first step into the 6 motor world.
Like my friend GW says, "It's best to have spare parts!"

It's why I freak out so much when people come here with "I'm a noob, what is a cheap system with waypoints?"

Things go wrong, you need to be able to control it. I am not a great pilot, hell I just had another "spirited" landing last night (nothing broke), but I can control it if something fails that leaves me SOME control.

That's why I always tell people to exercise flying in MAN-mode and not stay always in 'safe-and-easy' ATT or GPS-mode. You should learn to control the beast....

I already have the Assistant (v1.8) running on my PC. (from working with my other FC)
I assume that all I have to do is connect the new FC/VU via USB cable, register the FC with DJI, and program it.
Is that correct? Or am I missing anything.
I don't want to have to dismantle things to reset the FC by F1 to F2 jumper...
I plug both my hex and quad into the same Assistant. I think it just downloads the current settings off whichever machine you have connected to it and then you modify them and they are stored in the Naza you have connected.

I got another delivery from Hobby king today I ordered a lipo for my transmitter a 3 cell. I cant believe how small these are! I read these work better in a transmitter than AAs I have even heard the transmitter might even put out a stronger signal using a lipo. We shall see

Don't forget that charging a lipo is something to monitor no matter what its size or location.
I don't think the C rating on transmitter lipos is very high (they are more like lithium laptop batteries), so it's not quite as serious as a high discharge lipo.
If you choose to leave the battery in your transmitter, I'd keep an eye on the charge cycle...

I have tried numerous servos on my gimbal. A few brands and tried both analog and digital.

On 2 quads, if I use Savox servos, the roll doesn't work unless I unplug it and plug it back in WHILE the quadcopter or hex is powered up. Only the roll channel.
Has anyone else had this?

The small charger in the video is a lipo balance charger for these type small batteries. I will only charge this battery using this charger. I would never use the charger port the factory put on the transmitter. The battery is 11.5 and rated at 2C. This small charger is really slow compared to my big one. I guess slow is ok if you will only have to re charge every 6 months or so.

Output on that mini charger at max output is 0.8A it takes hours to charge a battery with that charger
