Yes flying with the little man is pretty awesome. Last Thursday he maidened his first aircraft . . Micro EDF Red Arrow lol

The video before turbodriven crash is the only video I uploaded of the Bixler flight that day. It was getting dark and cold pretty quick so I didn't fly for long, but the sunset was nice

Hey Turbo, try adding a few mor ecf rods into your wings to get them stiffer. I would also recommend a film covering for your wings and stabilizer to avoid future disasters. I use a 3 mill thick clear laminate on the wings and a 1.7 mil thick on the elevator and stabilizer. Makes them rock solid and absolutely no flex. I got the film here: http://www.canuckengineering.com/new.../film-covering

Look at the pics of the last plane I built. It doubles as an fpv plane and a stunt plane!!!

The wing structure was fine until the glue holding on the spar cover let go. once that broke free the wing had no chance. I suppose an adhesive film covering over that cover may have helped prevent that. Or better glue

I wish the spar channel was built in like some other versions. May be it's harder to manufacture like that?

WHY??? The wing spar design is so much better now on the newer versions. You simply need to add more rods and stiffen your wings up more. I also use 2 3mm rods through the top of the plane thru the screw holes and down into the bottom of the plane. Monkey glue all that together and it will never break. I just broke a set of wings from the plane I crashed into the river but that joint did not fail!!! So stop whining and get to work!!

Will try to fly anything.

On the subject of stiffening the wings, I filled the hollow CF spar that came with the plane with expanding foam and it stiffened it up quite a bit and doesn't really add any weight.

It could be stiffer but just by doing what I did cut the flex down in the wings at least in half and it flies beautifully.

You can shove more rods into each wing from the side, just make sure you stay perpendicular and don't punch a hole through the wing. I normally add a 3mm rod in front of the main spar towars the leading edge. I also add another 3mm rod behind the main spar towards the trailing edge. This will help take out a lot of flex.

You can buy this mount and velcro your camera to it. HobbyKing sells them for the Bixler for less than $4. Not the camera though, that's separate.

You can just velcro your keychain cam to the top of the plane anywhere actually, or even on the wing somewhere.

Or just cut a small slot in the canopy and stick it in there.

Sweet thanks - I was actually thinking about buying that but I couldn't figure out the best way to mount the camera to it.

I need a bigger shed..

If you just want to mount a keychain cam, some velcro on the nose is the easiest way to do it.
I a good strip over the nose offered a good range of mounting angles, as you really want the camera pointing down slightly to see the ground, instead of the big old boring blue.

I use Velcro and a snap swivel tied to the battery cable inside the plane.

I also have a rubber band as a third connection point.
