I never really had to do SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for site I run as they are informational for a specific target audience. I looked into it briefly a few years back, and decided I didn't need it.

I did a quick Google search on SEO. This link looks like a good place to start:

As anti-twitter, and facebook as I am, you may want to look at starting them up for the business... Apparently they are valuable tools particularly for cottage industry.

How about

Depron Substitute
Depron Alternative
Depron Replacement
White Foam
Scratch Builders Foam
Foam for Airplanes
Airplane foam
Modelers Foam
Modelers Building Material
Hobby Foam
White XPS
Foamy Building Material
RC Model Foam

Also remember, if you want them to be effective Meta tags you must use the word/words in the text some where on (preferable the main page) your site. One trick used is to make a list of the tags and place them in the bottom of the main page and make that text the same color as the background so it is invisible.
But it is far more effective if actually used in descriptions for example. " The only American made Depron Substitute" or "Our Depron Alternitive is... ".
I think you get the idea.

The tags must also be relevant to your site content. There is a whole raft of rules to use to get good placement in the search. I took a course in Internet marketing. I am also the webmaster for several sites.

Hope this helps.

So, I rummaged through Google and found how to and got site verified, but not yet crawled or able to do the diagnostics. I did note that too many meta tags make the site show up as spam, so we'll have to sort through all the suggestions and pick the best ones, I guess. Also, found out that I can actuallly see the meta names window in properties edit area in Concrete5 editing, if I switch IE to compatibility mode, but if I try to edit, still get a wierd page of html code that's larger than the screen and won't let me scroll to bottom to see if there's a "save" button there (did I ever tell you how counter intuitive concrete5 is? let me take an hour or so and do that......) I did the help on that, and found only more people asking the same question.... So still no meta names or tags yet. When I get the boxes redone, I'll start porting the site to wordpress or something else.

I guess it's not critical if we're already showing up in Google searches, tho.

Do I have the idea? Do others have more suggested "Meta terms" for Model Plane Foam
model airplanes
scratch built foamies
RC foam

any key word that has to do with building or R/C in general will help generate traffic to your site...
or should I say help generate a result at a search engine. the traffic on your site depends on whether the searcher clicks on the link to your site provided by the search engine.

the key word MPF or model plane foam used in threads or posts in forums will generate results to that forum.

hope this helps

Interesting, when I googled Model Plane Foam, the second hit was our home page, and the 8th hit was the RCG threads. Google may be using my frequent usage to tailor the search, though.

Mike, Ken and Don,

I got my two boxes of the seconds material yesterday and all I could think is that WOW! If this is the seconds material I can't wait to get a box of the primo stuff. VERY SATISFIED.

SUPER huge thanks to you three gentlemen and hope that the success continues.

Wondering if you all cleared your search history what your search results would be. Maybe borrow a family members time to give a go on a fresh machine. My history pops the web site up first everytime, in fact the complete URL with only a few letters typed in.

just Some Useless Geek
Not wanting to hijack the thread any more than it has, but if your site actually uses words that apply to the search criteria as actual content (meaning, you mention this stuff in the description of your product that the visitor reads) then your search engine ranking is bound to go up. Google keeps their search engine ranking rules a closely guarded secret, but the one thing that is consistent is pages that have real content containing these terms get higher ranking.

So, when you start posting pics and brief descriptions of the models being built by your customers using your material the corresponding Google page rank will rise. [ahem]
