WoW!!!
Have a really good feeling about this jet. I love Sukhois, I have been waiting for this. The only thing I do not like and will change is the cheater holes underneath. I dont really know yet where I will move them to but other then that it is very impressive. Sorry if this has been mentioned before, how many mah's is the battery? |

This looks like they modified the SU34 airframe. If it flies anywhere near as well as that they will be onto a winner.

now all we need is a twin seater UB model from them too. I always preferred the look of the twin seat.

Is this plane shipping & available now? Or just taking pre-orders for later? (When) deliveries?

I second that. Quote:
Not really, this is a bigger size and lots of major changes, I think they kinda designed this one from zero. No point in using the other's |

They look like they've done a great job. Only thing in question is the servos and fans. |

Neversummer, how do you think it will hold on grass? I know the Eurofighter v3 will fly from grass runways fine (with a little care) but will the SU-35 do too?
The SU-35 might have stronger landing gear, as is mentioned a lot of wood is used to attach stuff. I have a grass runway only (rather smooth) and will choose between the Eurofighter or this new SU-35 as my next purchase. Thanks |

Neversommer,
I have a bit of a beef. I am not sure what association you have with Ready2Fly but I'll ask anyhow. I just went to pre-order the 35 and noticed that my shipping charge was identical to Brandons. I am in Canada (Brandon is in the USA) and I know for a fact that EMS ships to Canada no problem as that is how all of my Hobbyking/PW-RC etc etc items come in. It's very obvious that R2F is just putting in a bulk number for all shipping services to all destinations. I know some companies make money with the shipping but why is there no option for EMS to Canada like everyone else has?? |

Pete,
ready2fly are in SWITZERLAND. They are the european reseller. Freewing, the manufacturer, are obviously in China. EMS is a Chinese shipping company. That's why there's no option for EMS on ready2fly's website. EMS has no network in Switzerland. Try contacting jettechmodels on ebay. They stock freewing planes & send via EMS, although I'll order mine from Ready2Fly because, me being in the UK, it wont cost a fortune to send it back if there's a problem. I got my Eurofighter from R2F & they were excellent. In fact, in addition to jettechmodels, there are also others in China who sell Freewing models. If you do a "worldwide" search on ebay for the 90mm Eurofighter, you'll no doubt find them. Hope that clears it up for you, just trying to help. |

CHeater holes underneath reduce your lift. Su-34 looses altitude when you nail the throttle because you suck some lift away. Lift works by speeding up air over the wing cuasing a lower pressure on top (there are other ways but lets not talk about them). now speed up the air underneath the plane as well by sucking this air into two screaming fans, sucking away the high pressure that would be giving you youre lift. Not always pleasing to the eye but cheater holes work better on the top. I put cheater holes underneath one of my other edf's and notice it had alot more power and alot more speed but it didnt fly as well and was dragging its ass around like it was underpowered. I discovered better flying characteristics and WAY shorter take offs putting cheater holes on top (once again, lowering the pressure on top the the plane even more than usual is always a bonus on take offs especially if you have to take off from grass). It also eleminated the tendancy to lose altitude when you increase power to soften the landing, on a lot of edfs doing this makes them slam harder into the ground, I sure im not the only one to notice this. I also sucked in less Debriss into the fans. These are just my findings, put cheater holes wherever you want.
You wont get rid of these tendancies totally on a sukhoi because the intakes are below a lifting surface, the LERXes and blended fuselage so threre will always be some loss in lift depending on the attitude of the aircraft and what you are doing. So when you give the Su-35 throttle, there are three areas where lift is lost, left intake, right intake, and by the looks of the photos, center fuselage. Oh, one more thing, cheater holes underneath can suck the aircraft to the ground on take off, increasing take off distance. On the plane I mentioned earlier, It would be doing mach 2 on the ground and not take off. I would give up, cut throttle for another try and the thing would 'pop' up into the air. This went away once i moved cheater holes to the top. On the first flying vid of this new su-35 you can see it pops up instead of takin off nice and smooth as foreward speed and elevator input overcomes the suction and it suddenly pitches up. Soooooo! What batteries are we going to need????????????? |

Cheaters on the top ruin the look. And seeing as he had the 35 into the air in about 30 feet i am sure we can come off the throttle a bit for a more scale takeoff. My Mig-29 has big cheaters similar to this but im still able to have it rotate like a dream.
