I don't believe anyone in the this thread has tried the dle-35. The engines I think we have seen the most of are the DLE-30, OS 33 (I am one of them), the mintor 38 and the syssa 30.

What size Savox servo would be good the Edge. Would the Savox 1258 TG servos work for this plane? Savox has 15% 4 servos or more. http://www.savoxusa.com/Articles.asp?ID=328

If you call Aztec AeroModel, and tell Azhar that Steve Tillman sent you, he will also give you a 15% discount.....

6 minutes of fun with 25-30 left.
Is that 8S or 6S?

I am pretty sure that is 8S considering the KV of the motor...

And I have six 4400mAH packs charging right now for tomorrow!!!

Thats true and bullets run without "Y" connector.

Yup...and I use bullets in my 89" Slick which is 12S....but the one thing I don't like about bullets, is that it is much easier to mess up and accidentally plug the batteries in wrong. I always plug the two packs together outside the plane, so less chance of confusion, but there is still a possibility....

H'm, no cooling air vent areas opened up on the red/white one? Or has that been addressed since shooting the video?

On the silver Edge, did you open some vent areas for the drive LiPo, i.e. in the battery tray's balsa sheeting? That would let some cooling air circulate around the pack and then exit through the "canister" bay vents.

Still thinking about how to do the cooling on mine (electric setup as well).

Anyone know if this will fit in the back of a VW Golf or GTI four door? If yes, does it go straight in or do you have to go in at an angle?

The red/white has air vents on the bottom, just doesnt show up on the vid,you may also want to put cooling holes in the firewall for airflow over the battery

All that there is left to do on my plane is cut a small hole for needle adjustments and I will be ready to run some gas through the engine.

I also need to borrow a CG stand. Its some place with in the range but this is my first plane thats a little to big to not use the stand.

Nope....no stand needed.....what I use are a couple of the little silicon rubber "feet" that go on the bottom of jewelry boxes (clear, about 3/8" in diameter) that are available at pretty much any hardware store.....stick them on at the CG point where you want to start, pick it up with your fingers on the feet, and adjust as needed. Get it close, and go fly. One in the air with a basic trim, roll it inverted and see if it climbs or dives. If you need to push forward just a little on the stick, it is perfect, unless you like neutral (no stick) or slightly til heavy (slightly back on the stick). .Just a bit tail heavy is good for 3D, but harder to land.

Thanks in advance!
Top Dawg services Mintors. ghoffman and I have operated 2 M38s (the whole story is long and complicated). The second one had a catastrophic failure when the ring snagged on the exhaust port. There was a LOT of slop in the first batch. This motor has been warranty replaced and the new one seems much better with a redesigned crank and other parts. The first motor we got also started to show signs of slop and is currently in for servicing. The M38 is the most powerful motor in the class that I am aware of. It is also the loudest and in most need of a canister. It spins a Mejzlik 20x7 at 7600 RPM.

Two of my flying buddies operates the DLE-35. Both of them are in Aeroworks Freestyle Extra 260s. We have not had a opportunity to compare notes on RPM as they were both going through break in when I saw them fly. They seem pretty powerful.

To be bluntly honest, in this class I see no reason to not select the O.S. GT33. It delivers over 7800 RPM with a 20x6 Falcon, has a super smooth throttle that is close to electric as I have experienced in gas with no need for a throttle curve, is very quiet on stock muffler (canister is quieter on M38), and has a ton of compression. The choke is super easy to setup with the guide built into the case. I know the 3DHS crew loves this motor.

Thanks. I may try that.
