Delivered yesterday...complete today!
About 10 hours to build.....if you hurry....
(It went fast in part because I've built SEVERAL 3dhs planes and this is my second DLE30 install...but mostly because of the excellent quality and consistent methods used by 3dhs....if you've built any other 70" class of 3dhs plane, this one will be easy.....and it won't be very hard if you've only built 48"-59" 3dhs planes before....there's no tricks to the build...It is very straightforward)
All-Up-Weight (AUW) = 10 pounds 6 ounces (10.38 lb) without fuel
Exhaust is 3DHS Omega Canister and Header
Fortitude 8oz tank
Fuel dot from 3DHS
Hitec 7955's all around
2s-2200mah Lipo for RX/IGN power (only 1 pack)
Unregulated 2s lipo power DIRECTLY to the RX and servos
Deans plug to 2 (two) JR servo plugs into RX.....no switch
RCexl Opto Ignition Cutoff
Castle BEC set at 5.1v to regulate ignition power (no separate ignition pack)
3DHS Omega Carbon Spinner
3DHS servo extensions (2@4" for Ailerons, one 20" for elevator, one 12" for throttle servo)
Motor spacing is set for DLE30v2 standoffs, without any other washers.
A wooden motor box extension is included in the kit for electric motor mounting (similar to the 68 velox airframe).
The kit comes well packaged in double cardboard boxes.
The kit Includes wing bags, Vinyl Decals.......AND spare covering material for patches or repair, about 12" square, one piece for each color on the plane.
The vinyl decals on the plane are IN THE KIT!! I didn't use any aftermarket decals in these photos.
Rain is forecasted for the next few days....It'll see a maiden when it dries up....I can't wait!!!
Don't ask me about the CG....I haven't even looked to see if a manual is available yet...as with all other 3dhs planes...I built using recommended components, I'm confident it'll fly GREAT...For starters, I put the rudder servo in the front as pull-pull....but if I want it more tail-heavy, it'll be easy to move that rearward later if necessary.
Same thing for recommended throws....I just set em up on high rates at "bevel-2-bevel" along with a "roller-rate" of reduced ailerons....AND a low rate for precision. I plan on taking the maiden on full throw and if the motor runs clean....it'll huck for sure on flight #1.

Way to go Mike! Looks sweet. I had to rotate my head to see some of the pic's. Your pictures make the red one look really nice. Can't wait to hear your fly report.
Does that chin scoop flex alot being cut like that? That little 30 will shake it.
