New Product

Phoenix EPO 40mm EDF

I thought HobbyKing might get it, and they did!

This will make a good test airframe for small fans! And it only costs $24 for the kit! Take note this is only an airframe, so you will have to supply your own EDF and all electronics.

The Phoenix is an easybuild micro sport jet made from tough EPO foam that will provide hours of high speed, parkfly fun. The kit comes with a colour instruction booklet, hardware and decals and is a cheap build, ideal to just chuck in the car and fly, the Phoenix is cheap to buy, fun to build and a hoot to fly!

Specs:
Wingspan: 520mm
Length: 470mm
Flying Weight: 155g

Requires:
Your Own TX/RX with elevon mixing
EDF40
15A ESC w/BEC

Aw dang it! And I just placed a small order yesterday and was looking for something small to fill the remaining weight on the order. Wish I had seen this!

is anybody else thinking about a light fiberglass (maybe heavier around the intake lip for protection) and a powerful fan, two 5-8 gram servos and one of the new 65C thunderpower batteries?

I think i could almost do it for less than $100 if I root around the spare parts bin..

Will this carry an HET6904?
1500W would do nicely.

bueller...bueller......

I'm protesting HK over their terrible customer service at the moment...but eventually I will have to order some micro parts that I can't find anywhere else. Does anybody have one of these on the way to them? Even if I ordered it today, I'm afraid it might be a while. HK and the holiday season always goes together like oil and water...

EDIT: although, by the time HK ships this airframe to me, the mythical neu/aeo 40mm 500W unicorn may be available! I can dream, right?

I ordered some of the new 35mm jet airframes. Shipping was $6.99 for the 300g parcel. Then HK let me know I must pay something like $26 because $6.99 is not enough. I complained but they wouldn't budge. So I told them I'll pay for a Phoenix to bump the weight, 'cause then it makes more sense to pay $26 for shipping. Anyways, it took them 2 weeks to change my order and get it shipped. No idea when it will arrive....

ps: First order out of 48 that turned sour.

I received my RXR Phoenix today from the Black Friday sale at Nitro planes. It is pretty much ready to fly right now except I need some tail weight. It is extremely nose heavey. Anybody else have this issue? I would like to keep this as light as possible since it is only 2s

I have not recieved mine yet should have it tomorrow. I will look to see if it has the same issue. It is however good to be slightly nose heavy for a more stable flight.

Hello,

Could you please weigh the airframe before installing the gear?
Thanks in advance.
