We have a name for this kind of throwing style...INGO style. Coming from Stefan Wahlberg that have this style and the resemblence to Ingemar Johansson ( a boxer that beat Floyd Pattersson -59). Look at the throw in detail....slow, slow, slow and suddely everything in the end!

Really great, such a light full carbon plane is incredible, specially when you look at the wing area of the Polaris.
What type of carbon is it ? Imagine two layers in opposite direction ?

Thanks for the tips, Jonas! I will make some more ballast. I only have one 30gr slug. I will try the shallow dive with added camber.

It is the new "spread tow" that Vladimir Models uses. They make it themselves. It is two layers of uni at 30 deg to each other, not 45 like standard spread tow. The orientation allows for a lighter layup but with the same strength properties. It's really cool fabric but not cheap.

How fair is it to other pilots when this glider is able to create it's own worm hole? much like in space the launch is completely silent.

Hoping to get out during the week and fine tune the flight phases per Jonas E. recommendations. I am feeling very confident with my choice of glider.

Strange it doesn't look 30g spreadtow used in Blaster 3 or Maxa...
And on the Polaris photos UD looks to be at 45, not 30.
Hope Jonas or Mathias can tell us more.

Eric,

Just hold your new wing with our light layup!!!! Its leaving Sweden tomorrow. Weight: 127g including servos. You'll end up with a AUW of around 245g

That's something for flat conditions!!!

The unicarbon is so thin that we use a two layer lay-up on the light wings with fibre orientation of +/-30degrees.
On the standard version we use a three layer unicarbon lay-up. Orientation +45/-45/0 degrees.

I don't care for thermal as I add ballast, only for wind and flight task.
5x2 minutes doesn't require as much ballast as last flight, 5min.
This year I've flown anything from 245g up to 400g.
Example of last flight 5min max.
My best model was (don't ask) at 275g and I ballasted to 305g @ 3m/s, 330g @ 4-5m/s, 360g @ 6-7m/s, all in @>7m/s
I don't have that much sticktime on the Polaris so it wasn't until late this season I flew with 400g and also did some adjustments to my flyingstyle and the model set-up.
As long as you can keep launch height I don't think you will loose by adding ballast.

I tend to be conservative with ballast so I keep telling me
-I've never felt I had too much ballast
