traxxas 1/16 motor/esc combo in a vintage RC10 buggy

Is this the formula for a certain meltdown even if geared somewhat low?

In my Rc10 t I ran the cheap hobbyparts 29.00 (10.5) turn motor and a cheap bl speed control and that was more then enough for that old school truck, but u think if u put a 380 sized motor in there u are asking for trouble.

A bunch of the hobbypartz motor/esc combos run 380 rotors in finned cans that increase the size to the same diameter as a 540. I've got the orange leopard branded combo, and it has been great to me in my Losi XXT. Any of the deeply finned cans are actually 380's.

You'll definitely have to watch the gearing and temps, but it might be ok for your needs.
