If I remember correctly, the original specs for the Sabre were for a 3S 3850 pack. It might work, but its not going to help you get airborne in any less distance than a 4S, in fact your takeoff roll might be more. I have a 3S 3850 pack I might try it with one day. You could always put it on the watt meter and compare the difference in output.
