Well I dusted off my old EPS Zero yesterday.
It's been awhile since I've flown it but it was as sweet as ever, just great fun to throw around.
I must have nailed the mods the first time as it has a bad rep stock. I have 200w and it handles it fine.
A sweetheart.

Grats on getting the Zero going again, Bar. Sounds like its a good thing you are retired, Rich - you have a lot to do.

Pretty windy here last couple of days so not much flying - not looking good in the near future either.

Gws a-10


After 20 years, I am getting (back) into this.
My GWS A-10 arrived yesterday. After looking it over, and trying to understand the assembly manual, I think I am going to use it as a pattern for a pusher flat foamy(for now).
I have the EDF55-300H/G8.
I have read that these were underpowered. That's fine, as my reaction time has gone out of the window.I plan on using this as an advanced trainer,anyway.
Has anyone done a build tutorial video on this, all I can find are flight/crash stuff.

I can now EASILY put the stacked 4 ESCs in the upper compartment with the R & E servos / rec. / battery . under the wing compartment

Question about the 3 cell.. ma. hr sizes. I hve GWS 3 bladed contr rotating sets of 5" x 3"
And a set of 4" x 4" same direction.
The 5" x 3" pull 3.8 amp at WOT......44 mph & 8.5 oz of thrust each.
The 4" x 4" pull 2.5 amp at WOT......61 mph & 4.8 oz of thrust each.

I hope The computer is close enough on these little guys. Soo What size battery should I use ? I do sport flying. No 3D or vertical stuff. currents would be 12 amps WOT or 10 amps WOT. I assume I can fly at 1/2 those speeds & amps. ??

Can I do around a 25C - 50C 1000 mahr 3 cell Turnigy Nano ?

The plane weighs 17 oz RTF .....with no battery in it.

Hello CNILE.

I did a A-10 Pusher long ago. Skip the fans. A rear prop will have you pulling along side the F-15.
I also did that as a pusher with a 5980 KV helicopter motor. Verticle takeoffs.

I was able to comfortably fly the A-10 pusher on the old Black & decker LIFEPO4 1100 mahr cells A123 brand.

Two Slow Stick with Brushless Power!


Here is Henry kneeling and making some adjustments to his new GWS SLOW STICK using the Himax HA2025 in the Cobri Gearbox! It flew fantastic and Henry Loved it!



I brought my own GWS SLOW STICK and it is powered with the direct drive BP Hobbies A2217-9 Outrunner and swing the APC Slow Flyer 10 X 7 and using nothing more than 3-Cell, 1350mAH (Thunder Power) Pro-Lites, 25C, Li-POLYs and it zooms with zest appeal.

Cyclops - that harness is impressive - nice work. Seems like a 20C would be enough, but I always get the 30c batteries now. That plane should carry a little weight, so maybe a 1300 3s or 1800 3s - I don't have much experience with 1000 3s - might be enough, but I wonder how long your flight times would be

Cnile - never flew a Warthog so I can't help with that one - sorry

Hi Rich,

I'd second Wolfe's idea.

A 3S 25-50C 1000mAh lipo might be as heavy as a 3S 1300 or even 1500 20C one. I think the 20 -25C 1300 one will bring you more flight minutes, sport flying ones.

Most of my SS batts are 3s 1300 30-35C.
I found the biggest improvement in flight time came from using a regular prop and not a slowfly.

With the bigger motors there is no need for a slowfly prop unless you are lifting a lot of extra weight.

I use a 1300kv and a 9050 prop for 200W. This is the same setup I use on most of my parkies.

I decided to mod the spitfire to a bigger motor. I took my Scorpion 480 from the Slow Stick and threw it in the Spitfire.

Man! This thing is fast! Lots and Lots of Power!!

Lots and Lots of Fun!!
