Lon, I don't think prop saver will work on 300w motor. Also, 8x 4.3 is way too small for that motor. You would need 10x 4.7 with a regular prop adaptor if you decide the go the 300w route. But you might need to reinforce you wing, 46" on EPS or EPO? Really?

Mr Phoam: Do you have a product number of the EPO P-38 that I can look up ? Is it GWAEO 023? I would get one in an instant.
Yes, all of the factory painted GWS kits are going to be of the EPS foam. Couldn't look up a product number as the gwsus.com site is still down.

I got mine from HeadsUp in April or May of last year, but I see now they only have the EPS P-38s in stock. Same with BP, Graves, and Caliber oddly enough. I'm gonna open mine up tonight and have a look to confirm that it is EPO. Its been a while since I've seen it.

150 watts would almost be too much for a stock SS. Typical 20oz Slow Sticks like 400- or 450-class brushless motors with a Kv low enough to spin a 10" slow fly prop. A 3S 1300 is a good battery size, and best mounted as far forward as possible.

And Vince, I swear nobody seems to know what kind of foam the SS is made of.

I've only built four Slow Sticks using different motors and batteries. I find the lightest ones flew the best as far as long floaty times of motor/power off gliding as light landings. The stock LG wire is not made for a Slow Stick built on the heavy side.

I use a 10 X 4.7 SF prop, 740 kv to 900 kv motor, 18 amp ESC, 1300 mAh lipo. 100 to125 watt motot is all you need to fly her as she was designed. Too many watts will tempt you to hover, do tight loops, fly inverted, high G turns (I've tried all these and more) but airframe isn't made to take the stress.

That sounds like standard stuff for all the Slow Sticks I've built, but mine have all had ~200 watts, CF reinforced wings/tailplanes, and beefy aluminum landing gear.

Str8.cash - I had another look at my GWS-38 last night and it is in fact EPS! Sorry for the mix up. It does have have a nicer finish to the foam than my other EPS kits. But now I can't even assure you that there are EPO GWS-38s out there as I once suspected.

Do you think any other company has so many 'groupies'? I'm on my 3rd Beaver and I thought I had the GWS bug. Some of you guys make my collection look tame :-)

Nope, Arnav,

Those are "Johnny Come Lately" Companies for 3D elitist snobs - oh wait - I have a couple of those planes LOL.

I doubt anyone else has ever had the following that GWS has had over the years. GWS is in decline now, but at one time, they owned the foamy market. Everyone flew them. I doubt that any other single plane ever exceeded the popularity of the GWS Pico Moth

Any of you guys ever use FoamTac glue? Just got some I am going to try out.

I would guess that over the years I have built and flown at least 3 dozen GWS airplanes. Went through 2 or 3 each of the original group of warbirds, probably a half dozen Pico Moths, and handful of Formosa's., Beavers and J3 Cubs

Right now I still have about 8 of them, about half of those NIB

LMAO...

Maybe GWS is playing hard to get. On one hand they are "declining" but on the other hand they are out of kits months at a time. Maybe they are creating artificial demand just like Disney and Levi's...
