I've had my Pico Tiger Moth about 6 years and only take it to the field when there is no wind blowing.....still using a brushed motor (on the second one) and a 2 cell 800mh lipo. I get it up to about 50 ft., trim it to fly in a large circle then set the transmitter down and walk away....drives visitors crazy (and some club members), but it is a great free flight!!

Wind died just at dusk so got in a quick Pico Moth flight out in front of the house. Managed to miss the neighbors houses and trees LOL. I am having some trouble getting this one trimmed out right. I added some right thrust, but I guess I need even more.

Also ordered a back-up Mosa 1 from Heads up while they have some in stock.

Re: Islander

The snow sounds like fun... for a little while.
I was wondering if you had the 100's as my 300's don't come close to your flight times. I don't have a LVC for lipos and mine does good at 8-10 min. with a 1300mAh 2s.

All I have is,

A Slow Stick with a spare aileron wing.
A BN2 Islander
A Formosa EPS
2 Zeros, one EPS and one EPO. I'm waiting until the EPS absolutely can't fly any longer to switch to the EPO.

A Jr. Hawk (Wild Hawk) sold by GWS
Got a pretty good start on it today. You can see we doubled the
length of the spars and did it in CF. The ESC should be here
tomorrow and then I can put all the parts on and find the CoG
and get things in their proper location.
We have all kinds of 2S and 3S batteries in the 90 to 150g range. The recommended battery was 155g.
Kimber,

Good job ! It's a nice Pico Cub.
I built a Pico Cub-F many, many years ago when it was just released probably, "F" hear meant foam fuselage, more scale one. It was powered by the stock IPS motor with 7.2V 600mAh NiMh pack and prop EP9070. It's my first electric bird, I still keep it.

I'd like to build the wing with a bit of dihedral if I only use rudder for making turns.

I think it will have more when it is flying, the mount is very
flexible. This is with a 48g battery. 2s, 800.. It gains about
an inch at each wing tip. The CoG is about 1/2" off here.
But the Rec, is not mounted where it will go and there
is no ESC.

And the thermometer is not for sale! It is dated 1978.

At the moment, all I have as far as GWS and flyable are Slow Sticks

Had a blast at home today flying my 6' twin boom SS playing around with the flap on landing approaches. It really enables the SS to slow to a crawl and improves spot landings.

In a state of repair/assembly:

Tiger Moth 400 (85% complete)
Corsair (50% complete)

In a state of hibernation tucked away in boxes:

Pico Tiger Moth (x3)
Corsair
Zero (x2)
P-51
P-38
Spitfire
Formosa 1 (x3)
Formosa 2 (x2)
P-40
Slow Stick (x4)
TM400
BN2 (en route)

Phoam,

Can you post pics of your Corsair's aileron setup? i went with dual 5 gram servos mounted on top because I'll probably go belly lander (LG is on for now but landings are tough with the stock wire). I nail about 1 of 15 landings, meaning no noseover.

The Pico J3-S came out at 291g with a 105g battery and CoG is
perfect at recommended settings. Now we have to wait for a
heat sink, everyone is out of them.

Well, we found a couple places that have them, but the shipping is......
The part is only $2.

We didn't have a charged battery, but with a battery in storage mode
it showed about 34w. That's with a 3s,

I can't be sure but is the rated spec for the stock IPS about 20 watts or less and max input is 8.4v?
