but sometimes crashes
Man I've still got a smile on my dial from this morning. Not sure about average speed of passes choopi-I tend to break up my flights with some very tame tricks and inverted flying, not just rocketing around. The few really fast passes were all over 200km/h. The temp reading was spot on-just used the auto function. Wind was around 7km/h.

I'll try again with an average over the next few days. How my passes do you need for a speed to be respectable? I might compare with the APC 6x4 prop also. I'm telling you though, get onto graupner props. They are sweet.

Hey guys,

Great thread and it's sold me on a Radjet! After reading from start to finish I'm nearly decided on my set up but had a couple of quick questions.

I'm going for speed here and like the sound of the 2836 - 2350kv Turnigy on a 4s nano-tech 1800mah BUT Has anybody run the 2386 - 3200kv?? This motor is lighter (72g compared to 79g according to the king) and has the ability for 5s

Also i see most people are running a 6x4 (or Pete's 6x4.5) prop but there are a few comments about 4.5x4.5 and other smaller ones earlier in the thread. Can anyone suggest the best prop for speed for me.

Sorry for the questions but I'm a nitro heli pilot who dabbles in planes so props and electric motors are not my thing - UNTIL now that is!

Any help would be great.

Cheers
Mac

Hi Kiwi. I don't actually have a radjet but a skyfun-think it's s bit bigger than the radjet and can take more weight. I would have thought that you'd lose too much rpm with a 6x4 prop powered by a 4s 3200kv motor, compared to say a 4.7x4.7, which would have a much higher rpm.

I have the 2836 2350 in my radjet and while i have only tried it on 3S i am pretty confident that it will blow your mind on 4S.

Thanks Pete. done a bit more home work so getting the hang of the motor / prop thing I think. So how would I tell what's going to go faster? The 3200kv with 5s and say 4.7x4.7 or the 2350kv on 4s and 6x4? Is there any set formula or is it a after of experimenting?

thing is it's not a simple yes or no. Its a yes but you need to get rid of foam to make it a yes. flick back through the thread and you'll get your answer with some other helpful advice.

I did read the thread. I saw about a 1000mah 4 cell but I didnt see anything about a 1300mah 4 cell. that is why I asked. I would like to know what a good battery would be that wouldnt require a lot of foam removal. some is ok, but I dont want to remove a lot.

ive flown some flights on my radjet. it weighs 394 grams w/o battery. ive used a 6x56 carbon rod through the wings.
setup is:

turnigy 2836-2350 (2800kv)
4s 1600mah 30c batteries.
turnigy plush 60amp

dont have a watt meter so havent emasured watts.
but i used the rc speedo on my phone, and it was from 170-175 km/h using a APC 6x4E pusher prop
