Wonder why they decided to make a nuke boat model kit that "big"? Nuke boats are a bit featureless compared say to the recent 1/72 scale WWII boats.

Hey....theres a lot of folks relatively speaking who have wanted a skipjack at a decent price. Its also a great place for them to start since someone already has done the Albacore, the first teardrop hull. Next in line would be the Skipjack. I just know what happened to the price of the albacore and is still happening and where this low price will be soon enough. Out of reach of most! But i digress....time will tell!

for those who aren't buying this to r/c, but in fact as JUST a display model, it fits in well with the gato and type VII, it should be roughly 42" long, which is between the type VII (36") and the gato (52")

the "revell of germany" gato has a $139 price tag on tower hobbies.

the "revell" gato has a $79 price tag on tower hobbies.

the type VII is going for roughly $100 on ebay.

$120 sounds both reasonable and fair.

Considering Moebius' focus is with the static model market, I'm quite sure the price will be well within the range of other similar kits as mentioned above & not anywhere near SubTech's Albacore.

Ask David over at SD forum. I'm sure both SD & fittings kit will be ready once the Moebius releases their kit in a few months.

Deboer Hulls "Seaview" For Sale

I have a Deboer Hulls "Seaview" that I purchased in 1993 that I would like to sell. It's a display only model but I suppose could be altered to RC use. Two of the interior observation nose support ribs were damaged during assembly, the mini-sub hatch needs to be realinged, the screws holding the upper deck are covered by the deck hatches--the latter could be de-bonded to loosened them if you want to unscrew the deck, the periscope and another piece stick out above the conning tower (care needs to be taken here to avoid injuring eyes). Mostly though the model is fine. I purchased it for over a $1000 but it was that price because of extra items I ordered in connection with the model. It's actually price could be $800. If interested leave a post here or contact me by email at mematthewsjr@cox.net

Bloodstone,
I think it would be better if you posted your item on a separate thread. Not imbedded in another. Will be easier for potential buyers to see it. Thank you.

alas I won't be able to get ahold of one of these for awhile ... gotta grab a 1/230 skipjack kit before they are completely non existant to go with their discontinued

I heard from a very good source that they should be on their way to dealers in under 2 weeks.

David will be publishing his cabal reports on RC'ing the Skipjack shortly. Here are a few pics of his prototype at a recent sub gathering last month in Newport News, VA.
