Here is the latest Zephyr II to enter the fleet . I had goofed up the motor mount and built the wing upside down. I flipped the mount and finished the build properly. I'm running it with:

Dragon Link
1.2Ghz 300mw vtx
HS 645MG
ET OSD Pro Setup
GoPro Hero2
480 line CCD camera
Stock 1300kv motor and ESC
Graupner 8x6 folding prop
x2 11.1v 2250mah lipos

I vented the ESC cover. It should be enough to make a difference? I used motor magnets to button up the hatches. Everything turned out great! I can't wait to fly her, or enter her into a beauty contest

I disagree with 4 points.

1. SW is unstable at high speed (100km/hr+)
2. ZII is only difficult to launch if your CoG, throws and trim haven't been dial in correctly yet. It took 7 failed launches before mine were set, and now it launches with a gentle throw.
3. ZII stall speed whilst higher than SW, it is actually quite low.
4. SW tips stalls very easily when throws are too much.

Skywalker: Stable flying, slow or fast, low stall speed, ability to sight see with a pan/tilt camera, very long range and endurance, easy to launch, self corrects, will not do stunts unless highly reinforced

Zephyr II: Extremely fast, extreme maneuverability, high stall speed, does not self correct, long range, high altitude, wind resistant, difficult to launch, fixed cam view

IMHO

I never contradicted your points...

But for the sake of debate, yes on #2 but you can't deny it's still much more difficult to launch than SW
#3 I agree but it's still higher, that was my point
#4 ZII flat spins if flown incorrectly at low speeds

So about point 2 what is your advice (setup) to succed the first or two time launches ?

^^^...COG at 9 3/8". Trim elevons flush with top of wing, then a few clicks up trim. 5 flights so far on mine, and it only has touched the ground when I land. Great lil wing!

Isn't it suppose to be flush with the bottom?

I believe it's the top. For what it's worth, that's how I did mine and it's flying great. I think I saw CK post up the same info somewhere.

No it's not, that's why I had the 6 crashes on launch.

According the Chris (who designed the wing), it should be flush with the TOP not he bottom, with a few clicks of up trim.

How is this for an effortless launch, no running start, no gold medal throw, just a gentle throw. No wobbling, no stall, smooth smooth smooth

I had my maiden flight today, and 2 more after that!

Ritewing Maiden (0 min 46 sec)

Ugh, I feel so dumb.. video makes me laugh though... picked a classic inspirational tune when nothing at all happens... I wonder why it kept going left. I was balancing it on my finger and CG felt perfect both straight and laterally...

EDIT: or my brother and friend just need a little more throwing practice?

Should look at early posts how to launch. Its a very easy one man launching Wing.

i've seen all those. launching over the head seemed way too hard to actually launch it at the right angle for a first timer. I didn't think about this but i guess the plane would be easier to hold while it's going full throttle getting ready to be hurled over your head...

I did the way in the video below, which most people who fly Z1 and z2 launch there wings.
It seem hard , but its not. I did it on my first wing launch. Easy as bro.
