ok ok you win. i am feeling rather sheepish regardless as i just belted my ZXL into the ground x2 trying to launch it in a gusty spot.

LOL

i gotta learn to shut up!!

there are planes out there nobody can hand launch, so if you need to take ALL the effort out of launching i always recommend a bungee.

After day two flying the Z2 i'm feeling better about launching it. This time we found a hill and changed to an 11x7 prop. There was nearly no wind and the new prop felt significantly stronger. Maybe i'm getting the throw down too. I threw 2x that looked like it would have worked on level ground.

Here's a vid of the days launches, much better than the first day but still glad we had the hill! At the end there are some clips of glitching from the 72mhz antenna position. I'm trying to figure out how to minimize this because it was happening at close range and a pretty large cone. Anyone had this problem?

it is very cool. quite agile for such a big plane and with a big prop and low weight it zips about.

Just sold my Penguin, may have to get an extra wing although my Z2 is just fine.

Good collection, I just couldn't summon up the enthusiasm for the Penguin and someone wanted it.
Ive got a second Z2 in the box that I need to build now I know how it goes together after the 1st one and really want the ZXL.

I wasn't going to share this given how much crap people can give you about flying and clouds, but I have to share it with others who have experienced the same amazing feeling of soaring in the clouds

This was actually very low cloud anyway so nothing too controversial here.... I was a very hazy day, so much so that I didn't even see the clouds until I had climbed above them. This was also my first time in proper clouds - thanks Chris for making a plane that is capable of this so easily!

@Gree I wish ppl would just let other ppl live there lives and stop crying about ppl flying in the clouds. Last time I checked most ppl don't buy a zephyr, put a dragonlink in it to just fly Los. What I've learned is there is always someone somewhere that doesn't like what you do. That's also the same reason I won't join an AMA club anymore because they have such a double standard. Example a club here told me I had to only fly Fpv within the tiny little airspace of there club I said ok well why are all of those guys right there flying way over the non AMA area? He said well we try to stay in it and try to fly in a pattern. I was like whatever dude. Then I took my zephyr and flew 2 miles away at 4000 ft lmao. The area I did that in doesn't have an airport within 15 miles and was way out in the boonies so before ppl freak out on me just know I don't fly with any full scale aircraft around.

I love this technique for launching the ZII with a Ruby.
I will be trying this.
