Hi,

finally got my ZII all glued together.
Fixed my CG - this time exactly 3.5 inch from bay.
Batteries loaded.
Ready to Rock'n'roll !!

Great day today, windy - hand launch - well done ! going up, then down, them up, all the time full throttle and then down ... nose down ... $%@###@@$$@#@ !

I've got no idea what is going on with that ... 2 years of flying on SkySurfers, T-28, F-35 ... I've got no freakin idea how to properly launch and fly this thing ... giving myself a break for few weeks ...

ZII definitely left a scarf on my FPV flyer soul ... 3:0 for ZII ...

ZII weigh - 5.2 pound

I am not giving up ... I need to regroup and attack from different position ...

... but it hurts ...

Did it seem to be twitchy? Are your rates high? I had to turn mine down to 15% from 25.

You may want to try getting a bungee system to launch, or buy something like the Ruby from Uthere.com. It autolaunches for you basically, you just give it a throw, and it'll handle all the throttle/controls for you and get the Zii up to a certain height. Works very well.

That sounds very similar to my first experience. Fixed it by adjusting the CoG by 1cm.

Dude, your cg is way off. ITS NOT 3.5 FROM THE BAY.........ITS 3.5 FROM THE FORWORD MOST EDGE OF THE MOTOR MOUNT. looking from the top of the wing its about dead center with the servos.

Got my FPV maiden under my belt, flew her out to 7000 feet and no real issues. Got something blocking a side feed cloverleaf though. Gonna look into it further. Got an old 1.3 burried and trimed out, then this 2.4 antenna mounted near it. only thing can think of. all the live feed was 3 turn helicals on 2400duo hard mounted, no tracker. got a 10 turn for the tracker but the pan servo blew up so never got to use it this trip.

ZII FPV maiden (19 min 1 sec)

was blowing 15-20 by the time i got it close enough to send off. the last los flight was in zero wind and man is she stable.
zII last LOS (14 min 57 sec)

it;s got a guardian in it and in this video am just trying to reset level flight, over and over

Nice videos. I still can't get over the type of landscape there is in S California. Looks like it never rains in the area of the first video.

I am thinking that some of the video signal loss may be due to flying so low and being so far out but you lost the signal in the second video and you were higher up and closer. Hope you can figure out what was causing it.

In the second video did you mean to wag back and forth before landing in the brush or was that an emergency "put her down anywhere" action?

Theres no secret to launching Z2, you just have to toss it like a man, really hard! CG or no CG if you toss it hard it will go airborn. I have my elevons trimmed all the way up during launch. Make sure to not launch too high of an angle, sounds like yours just stalled from high AOA
