the web page for EFLU4864 points to it being used in both the Beast 3D and Bee Gee
("The "DSM2 6 Ch Ultra Micro AS3X Receiver BL-ESC" is used in the following:")

So, if this is a typo, it is a consistent typo on all 3 web-pages.

My guess is that the EFLU4864 is "de-tuned" to fly both the Beast 3D and Bee Gee, giving a goodly amount of gyro assistance to both, but not being "optimal" for either.
Wow, nice find... If they don't fix that soon, it does mean that this board can be flown pretty much in any UMs.... The Gee Bee and the Beast are one thousand mile apart!

That is inconsistent with what the design team told us, however.

Joel
It could be just that they and you are using the term "optimal" in a slightly different manner/degree.

Here's what Dave from HH told us:

-Can I change the gyro settings so I can use the boards in other airplanes?: No, the boards are not programmable in the field. Each board has programming specific to its intended airframe. -Dave

Hopefully, they will clear this up soon.

Hoping they will clear it up soon.

I posted a stray though on this in another thread:
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...5&postcount=69

Basically, instead of designing an airframe and then optimizing the Rx/gyros board and settings for it,
one could design a common Rx/gyro board and settings
and then tweak each airframe design to optimize the airframe's behavior with that common board and settings.

HH have been posting a few times on these products, can none of them confirm the AS3X tuning?

There's some contradiction between what the HH guys have posted and what's posted on the HH website.

Normally, when something like that happen, it's a webmaster error almost 100% of the time, but we're truly hoping it's not. Everything the HH guy have said is basically in this FAQ (first post of this thread). I don't think I left out anything truly important.

So the waiting game is started. HH guys are going to be back at the office from the IHobby show. They will check out thousand posts (they are awesome for that), then clarify the situation for sure.

It's been confirmed there's no accelerometers, so if that's the case, the tuning on the AS3X board may not be so tricky. But it's still a "may" until we get the final answer from the designers!

guys,

what about the AS3X Setting in GeeBee and 3D Beast ? It's the same ? or different setting for each model ?

Hope the setting fits perfect....also if I use higher/lower values for Expo/DR

So far nobody knows Count.... Board has the same number for both planes, but Dave said each boards are different for each planes. Also, no expo needed!

OK, here's the answer guys. We had an internal left hand / right hand disconnect problem here.

Turns out that the Beast 3D and the Gee Bee, coincidentally, use the same settings.

Should give all you scratch builders and modders a little hope.

This does make sense to me because this is more of a damping system for planes that are similar in size and weight. It isn't like a locked in HH helicopter tail that needs to be finely tuned.
I'm sure some type of plug in module for larger planes will be available in the near future. I have an idea that the war bird guys would love it.

COOL,

If the Beast3D and the GeeBee same AS3X settings, their AS3X will perfectly fit in one of my sukhoiXP
