Hi, I just bought a used HALFBAD 24" Flying Wing..It came with no instructions...Does anyone know the proper C.G. set-up for this? Thanks, Jack T.

Alot of info in this Half Bad build thread and I couldn't find the exact location but know I'd seen CG discussion in it.

Searched that thread and 4 1/2" look to be th strating point.

Enjoy it Jack!

Yep. 4.5" is what's on the info sheet. Mine should finally be done this weekend.

It does appear that several like to move the CG back and reduce elevator throws, but haven't seen anyone pontificate the supreme CG,....yet

Sorry for the late reply. Yep, it's 4.5" back from the LE at the root. I shot a PM as well.

I'm sure it flies well at 4.5", but you might find it interesting to plug the dimensions into this calc to see what CG range you could try out: http://fwcg.3dzone.dk/

I usually include the elevons in the wing size. This takes some fudging if you have a motor in the middle so that they are not full span.

Hope she works out for you Jack! Did you have to add much lead at all to get the right CG? It seemed to be balanced just fine without any when I had it.
