All -In- All do you guys recommend this boat for Zip-Around Fun? (The water form of Bashing) or is there better ones out there in the same price range? Price range is what I'm looking at.
May be the Traxxas Blast?
Size is not a concern.

Kent, my sons Mini is a blast for him, its basically a small DF style boat..................corners unbelievably, is hard to flip, and is pretty darn fast.............although a small hull looks faster on the water, but its still probably 25-30 mph. The ONLY thing i will give an "opinion" on as far as the overall experience, is that it is a bit small. Get to the other side of a large pond and its hard to see, plus its just more fun seeing a 25" + boat screaming around, the size comes into play a bit.

Thank you for your opinion. And yes, I think (FOR ME) and my usage, a bit larger boat will be more useful at this point. Maybe to grow my fleet in the future I will look back at this one.

Tuning questions

My son and I are new to boats so I am not sure if there is an actual problem or not.

1. At full throttle the boat leans way to the right side. Is this just torque? Is there a way to correct?

2. We have to have the rudder trimmed to the right to make the boat go straight. Would the turn fins affect the trim?

Turn fins shouldn't effect it, unless they got bent. If you look at the boat from above, are the rudders turning left with the trim centered?

For it leaning, you can put the battery more to the left if there's room, or get a sharpened propeller for it. The sharper the prop is, the less it'll roll from torque.

It has a single rudder and it is turning right to make the boat go straight. When the rudder is centered the boat goes left pretty aggressively.

There is no room to move the battery around.

Thanks for the help

I would look to see if the rudder is straight, and also check the turn fins to see if they were bent. Also check the trim tabs to see if one side is bent further down or not.

It makes sense that if you're having to give it right rudder to go straight that the boat would be leaning to the right, but it should run straight without right rudder input.

Here's a vid of my son driving it................it runs over its own wake a bunch of times and it doesnt even faze it. Its very stable and truns on a dime...............he doesnt even gun it til about halfway thru.

Watch the whole vid to see the turning ability

Wow nice!!! It seems like its running a bit wet....
Also be sure to check motor temps when running that long plus it has more weight to push around. If the outside is too hot to touch then youre running too long.
This motor is An outrunner, not an inrunner, so if the outside is hot thats really not good.
