That video is a good advertisement for tams landing gear set ups. Not the hardest landing, but A pretty good plop down and lets face it, we've all seen softer ones where the gear folds. Really impressed.

I hear ya on that one buddy
keep in mind that was my first ever flight on the JT L39, what a sweet flying bird at 11lbs and those 15-25's with Tams struts are awesome. I just needed a little more throttle and she would have set down perfect. oh well next time

Oh wasn't bashing your landing/flying skills. We all have those, specially on a new plane. Nice plane btw and grats on the successful maiden.

ok guys I am having trouble getting a good trace from Habu Burners unlimited run from today, anyone want to give it a try. I think the first and second passes were the fastest, I have the first dw pass at 200.3mph but having a hard time believing that so hoping someone could doppler it
thanks,

I know you were not bashing my landing and yes they do happen from time to time
especially on unfamilure planes, thats Tam's L39 it has around 30 flights on it I just took it up for a spin.

After 30 flights everything still working flawlessly.
Time for me to check the gear after your little hard landing.
Just kidding....I did that too on my maiden flight.
Same thing come little too slow.
Here is the video if that make you feel better.

Tamjets P-20 turbine conversion JT L-39 (9 min 36 sec)

Here is speed run. But mess up the audio to doppler it.
But look the pass....I think my L-39 can kept up the hot rod Habu.

Tam's L39 with a TJ 90 (4 min 47 sec)

Anyway you can get a key cam on it during the next flight?

Over 200mph (which it looks like it's very close) would look nice from the air

John,

That last landing was just a "carrier styled" one....and it was fine...
unlike my landing that probably would have ripped the tail hook out of the plane.

That dang L-39 was HAULIN, and the vertical was crazy...

Still think the Habu has some awesome landing characteristics...I swear you get the approached dialed in and wind, cross wind, ..whatever you throw at it and it can handle it.

I forget that you took my L-39 off road.
Now I really need to inspect the gear after let you two fly.

BTW, poor Sean.
The grass cut yesterday really get him. The allergy attacking him all day and now had to pick up from school.
Nurse said it could be allergie turn and cold.
