Maybe if you put your plug in the bottom of a paper cup so that the resin can fill over the top of it?

Hey Paul, I've done this before but with bondo and WD40. Spray the mold with the WD then "drizzle" in the bondo. By "drizzle" I mean run the bondo from one side of the mold and let gravity pull the bondo in. This way you get no air trapped in your mold. Then just pop it out when it sets.

Since WD40 has silicone won't it cause lots of paint adhesion problems on the molded parts?

Just saw the earlier message...sorry Dutchy.
Mechanical bond is improved if it has something to key and lock it in place. A few small holes in wood will improve grip and the hidden side of the resin can have a few angled holes that can improve glue adhering to resin. But, it will be weaker joint. No water and polyurethane glue (gorilla/probond) will give good strength, just clean off any squeeze out for easier finishing.

from the looks of the popcycle sticks you need a sraigtht slot in the side of the fuse for easy alignment. If all the sticks are straight in the exhausts.
