One of my favorites aircraft is the A320, since I've been maintaining them with UAL in the past!

i agree!!! but get a patent for it first so they don't steal your idea. Also if you ever do, then you should give the design to horizon hobby!

I started the thread on helium filled planes here: I never imagined how successfully it could be done! Great work. With the plans I am sure many of these modellers will be able to knock these off in the hundreds.

Just another idea from me - hot air is also lighter than air, as you know, If you can use the hot air from the electric motor in the fuselage, it may work the same way without having to pay for and tranport and fill the plane with helium.

Yet another idea is to suspend the aircraft from its CG from a ceiling mounted lattice - like a container crane - but this will use up the entire room.

Finally , as it has been done before, power and control the aircraft through a long tether keeping the heavy batteries out of the airframe. Maybe pump in compressed air to a compressed air lightweight motor as well.

Anyone willing to try these ideas? Model plane flying is being squeezed into smaller and smaller spaces these days.

Construction material:
Size of helium cell(s) and construction
Weight of airframe
Weight of helium cell
Motor/prop/EDF and battery

Is the airbus really full of helium? I thought it wouldn't make much difference to the weight. If so - what's the weight of the aircraft before and after filling it with helium please?

Martin,

I've been in R/C since the mid 70's. Your Airbus is by far the coolest R/C plane I have ever seen! I thought seeing basic r/c airliners fly would be good enough, but most fly so fast you can't really enjoy there beauty in the air. With your slow flying Airbus you can - it is such a thrill to watch!

If you were to get with the right people/company and mass produce these, you'd be very successful. I would order the first one! I really think it's amazing and my hat is off to you for doing such a fantastic job. I can't stop watching these Airbus videos. :-)

Thanks Jurgen for posting these great video's and Martin for the wonderful job!
