Would these batteries work with the Wattage Hawk?

I found some batteries on Ebay

Would they work for the Hawk? I don't have motorcalc and wondered how they might perform in my Hawk?

Thanks for your help!

It is not clear what cell size he is presenting here.

If it is a 5/4 AAA nimh, then yes, it will work fine.

If it is a 2/3A nimh, then it is too heavy.

if you're going to use NiMH, i'd go with 8 cells instead of 7. i used an 8 cell 720mah AAA NiMH in my hawk, and it performed quite well. it would probably fly on 7 NiMH cells, but the speed would not be there.

I sent email to the company in the ebay auction and their reply is that the cells are 4/3 AAA. Being a pretty new E-flight guy, what does this mean, and will they work (well) in my Hawk?

4/3 AAA means each cell is a third larger than a regular AAA cell. they should work fine in your hawk. however, NiMH cells tend to have a significant voltage drop under load, so you typically need to use one more NiMH cell in a pack than you would with NiCds. so if a 7 cell NiCd pack is recommended, you'd want to use an 8 cell NiMH as a substitute. i'd recommend an 8 cell NiMH for the hawk.

btw, don't make the dumb mistake i made and mount your receiver in front of your battery. if you crash nose first, the battery will smash the rx to bits, believe me

Do you have some picturs of your HAWK for us?

Always nice to see

What motor do you have in it?

Maby you would want to get a better efficiency motor insteed of fidling with NiMH packs, they are a newsence to fast charge.

See ya.....
